Job Description

We're looking for a commercially minded Customer Marketing Manager to help us grow customer engagement, drive investment activity and deliver long-term value across our Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) business.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced customer marketer who thrives on understanding customer behaviour, creating impactful marketing campaigns and delivering measurable business results. You'll play a key role in shaping how we engage with our customers, encouraging them to make the most of their relationship with AJ Bell through relevant, timely and effective communications.

Working closely with colleagues across Marketing, Product, Data, Compliance and Customer Services, you'll lead customer marketing initiatives that support customer growth, retention and engagement, while helping to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and deliver customer marketing campaigns that drive customer engagement, funding, investing activity and long-term customer value.
  • Own key customer marketing initiatives and commercial campaigns, ensuring they are customer-focused, commercially effective and aligned with wider business objectives.
  • Use customer insight, data and performance analysis to identify opportunities to improve engagement, customer outcomes and campaign effectiveness.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of key commercial moments throughout the year, including tax year end activity.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the business to deliver joined-up customer experiences and ensure marketing activity supports wider strategic priorities.
  • Take ownership of campaign performance, using insight and testing to continuously improve results.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, ensuring activity is delivered to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Data, Compliance and Legal to deliver effective customer communications.
  • Support the development of a Marketing Executive, providing coaching, guidance and day-to-day support.
  • Ensure all activity meets regulatory requirements and supports good customer outcomes.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for an enthusiastic and commercially focused customer marketer with experience delivering successful customer marketing campaigns within a D2C environment.

You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, works well both independently and as part of a team, and is motivated by delivering tangible business results.

You'll have:

  • Proven experience in customer marketing within a direct-to-consumer business.
  • A strong track record of delivering campaigns that drive customer engagement, retention, growth and commercial performance.
  • Excellent understanding of customer behaviour and how to create relevant and effective customer communications.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a results-focused mindset.
  • The ability to use customer insight and performance data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across a range of teams and seniority levels.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A proactive, collaborative and positive approach, with a willingness to take ownership and make things happen.

Nice to have:

  • Experience within financial services or another regulated industry.
  • Previous people management or coaching experience.
