We’re looking for an 8-month fixed-term Creative Strategy Lead to join Snap Inc. in China. As a Creative Strategy Lead, you will be a natural creative leader and a catalyst for unlocking revenue through creative ideas, data-informed strategies and scalable solutions.

Creative Strategy leadership will look to you to act as the owner of the China creative business for your area, with a primary focus on Retail & App Utilities. You will develop proactive custom and scaled strategies that drive growth while maximizing team impact. Day to day, you will work with the China Sales team, key brand partners and their agencies to create and implement best-in-class creative advertising campaigns on Snapchat, while guiding and developing members of the Creative Strategy team. You will act as the creative engine that pushes the work of a verticalized team to new heights.

What you’ll do
  • Lead creative strategy for priority China advertisers, from business objective and insight through to recommendation, presentation and execution.

  • Ideate, create and deliver world-class advertising campaigns while acting as a creative strategy expert within the Retail & App Utilities space and the broader China/APAC market.

  • Partner with China Sales leadership and account teams to develop long-term creative strategies, pitches, account plans and revenue opportunities against business objectives.

  • Communicate with senior brand and agency partners to understand their business priorities and translate them into compelling creative solutions.

  • Use data, performance signals and creative intelligence to identify opportunities, sharpen recommendations and improve creative outcomes.

  • Provide guidance and direction to Creative Strategists as they develop ideas, strategies and presentation materials, while directly managing the creative strategy for one or more priority accounts.

  • Build scalable playbooks and repeatable solutions across seasonal moments, creator and brand opportunities, export opportunities and creative optimisation programs.

  • Help advance adoption of AI-enabled creative workflows and other tools that improve the quality, speed and scale of creative strategy.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Marketing Science, Sales Operations/GTIP, Product, Solutions Engineering, Production and AR to drive market and vertical solutions.

  • Partner with regional Creative Strategy leads to implement effective processes, share best practices and support the career development of team members.

  • Represent the China market at client, agency and industry events when necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong executive presence and comfort leading senior stakeholders.

  • Proven thought leadership in creative strategy, brand marketing or advertising.

  • Experience using data, performance signals and insights to unlock creative thinking.

  • Keen understanding of how brands fit into Snapchat’s overall business and how creative strategy can support commercial outcomes.

  • Ability to work with clients and agencies to understand business priorities and shape strategic recommendations.

  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to command a room and articulate thought-leading advertising solutions succinctly.

  • Track record of developing outstanding creative advertising for mobile, social or digital platforms.

  • Track record of managing, coaching or developing people in a high-growth environment.

  • Strong commercial judgement, prioritisation skills and comfort operating in ambiguity.

  • Ability to build trust quickly and collaborate effectively across Sales, Creative Strategy and cross-functional teams.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA in Marketing, Communications, Business Management, a related area of study or equivalent experience.

  • 9+ years of experience in brand marketing, advertising, creative strategy or another related field.

  • Fluency in Mandarin and English.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of brand marketing and how to build brilliant strategies to solve business needs.

  • Experience working with China or APAC clients, agencies and Sales teams, targeting global business expansion.

  • Experience developing and empowering team members to deliver outstanding creative executions.

  • Experience turning data, creative intelligence or emerging technology into scalable client or team solutions.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritise effectively and inspire others by example.

  • Experience working in Google Workspace (Google Slides, Sheets, Docs, etc.), Adobe Creative Cloud and Keynote.

Additional information

Occasional travel within China or APAC may be required for priority client or agency meetings, team planning, industry events and onboarding. There is no fixed travel cadence; travel will be based on business need.
