About the role

We're looking for an award-winning, hands-on Creative Director to lead the creative vision for three of the world's biggest travel brands: Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo. Leading our Brand Studio team on visual identity and commercial and retail creative, you will shape how travellers see and feel our brands, raising the bar for creative everywhere they show up.

In this position, you will set the creative point of view, own the quality of everything the studio makes, and guide a multidisciplinary team of designers, motion designers, copywriters and generative AI specialists. Pushing our brands to be bolder and more distinctive, you will balance creative craft with speed. We also expect you to champion innovation and future-state thinking, exploring what generative AI and new tools make possible for our brands.

Reporting to the Senior Director, you will shape the roadmaps, systems and partnerships that keep the studio ahead of a fast-changing creative landscape. Above all, you will foster a culture where craft and great ideas come first, and creative innovation thrives.

In this role, you will;

  • Set the creative vision. Shape Brand Studio's creative point of view and the standard of craft across every brand touchpoint. Bring a clear view on where AI fits in our workflow and what should stay human.
  • Lead work from concept to delivery. Turn strategy and business goals into ideas, and guide campaign, brand, product and marketing work through to final delivery.
  • Build and grow the team. Hire, manage and develop a team across design, motion, copy and brand. Direct freelance and agency partners for overflow and specialist work.
  • Strengthen systems and process. Own the brand's creative systems, guidelines and playbooks, along with the briefing and review process that keeps quality high as volume grows.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders. Be the lead creative voice with senior leaders and work closely with integrated marketing and teams across the business.
  • Manage studio capacity. Balance the workload across many briefs and know when to push back on scope or timelines.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 10+ years in creative roles at an in-house brand studio, agency or design consultancy, including 5+ years leading creative teams
  • A portfolio that shows strong creative direction across brand, campaign, digital and product work, including original ideas you led
  • Experience hiring, managing and developing creative talent
  • A strong understanding of brand systems and how to keep work consistent across many briefs and channels
  • Experience briefing and managing motion, photography, video and AI production
  • Fluency with creative tools such as Figma, Adobe and Weave, and familiarity with scalable production workflows
  • Working knowledge of AI creative tools, and a view on how to use them responsibly
  • The ability to balance creative ambition with deadlines, budget and business priorities

Nice to have experience

  • Experience building or scaling an in-house studio
  • Experience in a large, multi-brand or global organisation
  • Experience building AI-assisted creative workflows from scratch
  • Experience working with growth or performance marketing teams to turn brand creative into high-performing digital assets
  • Award-winning or widely shared creative work

If this sounds like you, we'd love to see your work.
