The Role
We’re looking for a Creative Designer to join our Brand & Communications team and help bring our brand, campaigns and communications to life.
This is a varied role covering campaigns, presentations, social and digital content, internal communications, events and brand resources.
We’re looking for someone who combines strong design skills with personality and ideas. You’ll be comfortable working directly with stakeholders, getting involved in conversations and bringing your own creative thinking to a brief rather than simply waiting for a finished solution.
You’ll work closely with the Brand & Communications team to create work that is clear, engaging, bold and recognisably RLB.
Role Responsibilities
What you’ll do
You’ll work across a broad mix of creative projects, including:
- Develop creative ideas and visual concepts for campaigns, communications and projects
- Create engaging, on-brand design across digital, print, social and internal channels
- Design high-quality PowerPoint presentations, turning complex or content-heavy information into clear, engaging stories
- Develop layouts, diagrams, infographics, illustrations and other visual content
- Create and maintain templates, presentation resources and reusable brand assets that colleagues can easily use
- Support internal campaigns, events and business-wide communications with creative concepts and content
- Work directly with stakeholders to understand briefs, challenge thinking and find the best creative approach
- Bring fresh ideas, references and inspiration into the team and explore more interesting ways to communicate traditionally corporate content
- Use AI and emerging creative tools thoughtfully to accelerate ideation, explore creative directions and improve how we work
Experience in motion graphics or video would be a bonus. There will be opportunities to develop skills in areas such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, animation and video as part of the role.
Candidate Profile
What we’re looking for
First and foremost, we’re looking for a creative thinker, not just someone who knows how to use the software.
You’ll be someone who:
Has strong graphic design fundamentals, including typography, composition, hierarchy, colour and image selection.
Can understand the business or communication objective behind a brief and translate it into a strong creative response.
Can understand the business or communication objective behind a brief and translate it into a strong creative response.
- Is confident using PowerPoint as a design tool, not simply placing content into existing templates
- Is comfortable working across Adobe Creative Cloud
- Has an eye for detail and cares about producing polished work
- Has good creative judgement and can balance stakeholder needs, brand consistency and the quality of the end result
- Shows initiative, takes ownership of their work and is comfortable progressing ideas without always needing detailed direction
- Understands the importance of brand consistency while still looking for opportunities to push creative work forward
- Is collaborative, personable and confident working directly with stakeholders
- Is comfortable sharing ideas, explaining the thinking behind their work and responding positively to feedback
- Can manage several pieces of work at different stages and communicate clearly about priorities and progress
- Is comfortable working with sensitive or confidential information and understands the importance of discretion
- Is curious about what’s happening creatively outside the business and brings that thinking into their work
What good looks like
You’ll become an active part of the creative conversation: someone who can sit in a meeting, understand the problem we’re trying to solve and say, “what if we did it this way?”
You’ll bring energy, personality and ideas to the team, build strong relationships with the people we work with and help us push the quality and creativity of our communications forward.
You don’t need to arrive knowing how to do everything. We’re looking for strong creative foundations, curiosity and a willingness to learn and broaden your creative skillset.
