About the Role

Monotype is seeking a Corporate Development Manager to lead our M&A pipeline development and deal execution efforts. This role is designed to accelerate Monotype’s inorganic growth strategy by building dedicated relationships and the deal expertise needed to source, evaluate, and close acquisitions, specifically targeting the foundry ecosystem.

This role will report to our Sr. Director, Strategy & Corporate Development. The successful candidate will serve as the primary owner of Monotype’s M&A pipeline, working closely with the rest of the Corporate Development team to drive end-to-end transaction activity — from initial outreach through integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess potential acquisitions against Monotype’s strategic objectives, including portfolio expansion, market positioning, product fit, customer relevance, financial impact, and integration feasibility. Prepare clear, insight-driven materials and recommendations for senior leadership and investment decision-making.

  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of acquisition opportunities through systematic outreach and sustained relationship development with foundries and type designers.

  • Lead and support transactions from initial evaluation through signing and close, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, due diligence coordination, deal structuring, negotiation support, and management of internal and external workstreams.

  • Coordinate closely with Finance, Legal, Product, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive diligence, clear decision-making, and disciplined execution throughout the transaction process.

  • Support post-close integration planning and execution by establishing governance frameworks, coordinating cross-functional integration workstreams, tracking milestones, and monitoring value realization against the original deal thesis.

  • Monitor trends across type, design, branding, creative software, and related technology markets to identify emerging opportunities, competitive dynamics, and areas of strategic relevance for Monotype’s growth agenda.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate development, business development, private equity, strategy consulting, or a related transaction-oriented role.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting or managing M&A transactions, including financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, deal process management, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to build and interpret models, assess business performance, and translate analysis into clear recommendations.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with founders, advisors, executives, and industry participants.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-ready presentations, investment materials, and strategic recommendations.

  • Commercially curious and strategically minded, with an interest in design, creative technology, software, IP, or digital content businesses.

  • Highly collaborative, proactive, and comfortable operating in a global, cross-functional environment.

  • High degree of judgment, professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.

What’s in it for you

  • Hybrid work arrangements and competitive paid time off programs.

  • Comprehensive commercial medical insurance coverage to meet all your healthcare needs.

  • Competitive compensation with corporate bonus program & uncapped commission for quota-carrying Sales

  • A creative, innovative, and global working environment in the creative and software technology industry

  • Highly engaged Events Committee to keep work enjoyable.

  • Reward & Recognition Programs (including President's Club for all functions)

  • Professional onboarding program, including robust targeted training for Sales function

  • Development and advancement opportunities (high internal mobility across organization)

  • Great pension scheme to save for your future, and so much more!
