Fixed Term Contract: 12 Months

Join Howden Insurance Group, as a Compliance Advisor. In this pivotal role, you will be the primary compliance partner for our Corporate & Commercial pillar, driving effective oversight and compliance across various initiatives. Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides the business with compliance support and advice, including but not limited to in relation to errors & omissions, financial promotions, onboarding introducers, overseas placement and commission disclosures.
  • Coordinates the compliant handling of complaints referred specifically to the C&C business.
  • Provides advice to the business, or functional colleagues, e.g. during the development or launch of new products, new business, models, new processes, outsourcing etc.
  • Engage with business units to establish a proportional, risk-based assurance framework.
  • Work with the Management Information Function to create effective reporting tools for early compliance risk identification.
  • Provide technical advice on compliance regulations during product launches and new business models.
  • Manage compliance-related projects and contribute insights to broader Compliance Function initiatives.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to relevant Governance Committees.
  • Conduct risk-based oversight of business compliance and address any identified regulatory issues.
  • Foster strong relationships across the business to promote a positive compliance culture and effective collaboration.

 

Person Specification:

Knowledge/Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of Commercial Insurance products and regulatory requirements within the UK.
  • Significant experience in a compliance role within a public company.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with business leaders and management.
  • Experience in managing change programs within compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with the FCA handbook and relevant insurance legislation.
