We now have an exciting opportunity to support our Space Imaging business as an experienced Contracts Manager. In this pivotal role, you’ll help define the future of a key Teledyne Business Unit, collaborating with customers from the Far East to the West Coast of the USA. The Contracts Manager provides support for the Contracts function and is responsible for drafting, negotiation and review contracts for the Business Unit.  The Contracts Manager will provide effective contracts management, with the objectives of ensuring compliance with contractual undertakings and applicable laws and regulations, as well as the requirements of the parent corporation, Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (“Teledyne”).

In this role, the Contracts Manager will work closely with all functions, including Sales and Marketing, Operations/Program Management, and Procurement, to provide support for the implementation of contracts with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. 

The Contracts Manager must have strong collaboration and effective relationship management capabilities.  This is a hands-on role – the Contracts Manager must demonstrate initiative and drive matters to conclusion in a timely manner.

The Contracts Manager reports to the Director, Contracts for Europe.  The Contracts Manager will ideally be based at the Teledyne office located in Essex, UK. Hybrid (office/remote) working arrangements will be considered for this position. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex contract negotiations with international customers.
  • Review, draft, and finalize standard and non-standard contractual agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and mitigate commercial risk.
  • Provide expert advice on contract law and commercial terms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic business objectives.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce exposure.
  • Maintain strong relationships with global stakeholders and customers.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a business or commercial role with contract management responsibilities.
  • Ability to work confidently with both standard and bespoke contractual clauses.
  • Demonstrated success in leading contract negotiations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Solid knowledge of contract law and its practical application.
  • Competence in drafting and reviewing complex contracts.

Desirable Skills

  • A Law degree or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Proven track record in dispute resolution and claims management
