Job Description

Kanadevia Inova is seeking a commercially minded Contract Manager (Execution) for a fixed term contract, initially until the 30th June 2027, with further projects expected. Your first project will be on our Thameside project based onsite in Tilbury, Essex. This is a varied and highly visible role, providing expert commercial and contractual guidance across industrial EPC, lot projects, from pre-award tender activities through to project execution, service, warranty, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial and contractual support throughout the full project lifecycle, advising on contract negotiations, reviewing commercial terms, identifying contractual risks and opportunities, and supporting tender submissions to ensure robust commercial strategies are developed before project award.
  • Lead the commercial and contractual management of assigned projects, service contracts, and warranty activities, acting as the primary UK point of contact for contract matters while supporting Project Managers with change management, claims, commercial negotiations, dispute avoidance, and the successful resolution of contractual issues.
  • Manage project commercial administration and governance, ensuring contractual correspondence, records, risk registers, claims, variations, guarantees, insurance matters, payment applications, retentions, and supporting documentation are maintained accurately and in accordance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders including Procurement, Legal, Finance, Project Delivery, and Supply Management to ensure subcontract and supplier agreements appropriately flow down client contract requirements, commercial risks are effectively managed, and project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete activities remain commercially robust.
  • Drive commercial performance and continuous improvement by identifying project risks and mitigation strategies, supporting warranty activities and defect resolution, participating in commercial meetings with clients and subcontractors, and contributing to the development of commercial best practice across Kanadevia Inova's UK operations.

    Qualifications

     

    • Degree qualified in Law, Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline, with common law legal education preferred. Professional qualifications such as RICS are advantageous, alongside knowledge of project scheduling and industrial EPC project delivery.
    • Proven commercial and contractual management experience within the construction, energy, industrial plant, infrastructure, or engineering sectors, with a strong understanding of project execution, operations, maintenance, or service-based contracts.
    • Excellent knowledge of standard and bespoke contract forms, including NEC, FIDIC, IChemE, Operations & Maintenance Agreements, and Service Agreements, together with demonstrable experience managing contract changes, claims, risk, and commercial negotiations.
    • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills, with the ability to analyse complex contractual issues, identify commercial risks and opportunities, prepare high-quality contractual correspondence and claim documentation, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
    • Highly organised, proactive, and solutions-focused, capable of working independently while building collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams, with previous construction site or industrial project experience considered advantageous.
