ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Narrative and Campaign Development

  • Help shape the campaigns and content that represent AKQA across our owned channels.
  • Work within the Marketing team and partner with Growth, Creative and regional teams to understand priorities and surface strong stories.
  • Translate case studies into persuasive client stories, find the strongest angles within complex material and connect related themes so our narrative builds consistency over time.
  • Support leadership in expressing our direction through clear, relevant and accessible storytelling.

Editorial Strategy and Systems

  • Build and manage the editorial foundations that keep our content aligned and coherent, including plans, calendars and workflows.
  • Set clear goals and audiences and ensure measurement reflects business priorities.
  • Maintain editorial standards across tone, structure and voice.
  • Work with contributors from across the organisation to refine content so it is accurate, cohesive and ready for publication.

Content Creation and Craft

  • Research, write and produce content across formats including opinion pieces, social campaigns, case stories, website copy, thought leadership and scripts, adapting ideas to suit the strengths of each medium.
  • Edit with clarity and precision, strengthening structure and intent without losing the author’s voice.
  • Conduct interviews with subject experts and clients to uncover insights that elevate stories.
  • Ensure all content is informed by cultural context, business relevance and what is happening in the market.

QUALITIES & CHARACTERISTICS

  • Strong editorial experience, ideally from journalism, media or corporate storytelling, and the ability to write with clarity, simplify complex ideas and craft engaging narratives.
  • Confidence interviewing subject experts and leaders and turning insight into compelling stories.
  • Understanding of digital publishing and multimedia formats, with strong visual judgment and the ability to adapt content across channels without losing coherence or tone.
  • Ability to develop content strategies and multi-channel campaigns and identify narrative patterns across different pieces of work.
  • Skill in finding the real angle in early-stage or incomplete material and connecting themes so stories reinforce one another over time.
  • Editorial judgement that guides teams toward clearer, more effective storytelling that supports brand and business priorities.
  • Awareness of cultural trends, industry shifts and emerging technologies, using this knowledge to sharpen story angles and maintain relevance.
  • A way of working grounded in curiosity and initiative, with clear communication and strong collaboration across functions.
  • Discipline in managing multiple priorities and raising issues early so work can move forward smoothly.
