At Ophelos, we believe in a different way to deal with debt. One that puts empathy and understanding front and centre, approaching our customers as individuals — no matter what they’re going through.
For too long, people in debt have borne the brunt of poor industry practices. Intimidating tactics, time-consuming customer service and a one-size-fits-all approach that overlooks the reasons anyone can fall into debt in the first place. Meanwhile, businesses suffer too. Poor customer experience translates to poor customer satisfaction, high churn rates, bad brand reputation and ultimately missed opportunities.
That’s why we’re taking a radically different approach. Pioneering an industry-first AI-native collections platform, we build products that help individuals clear their debts in a way that suits them, whilst providing businesses with an improved customer experience and game-changing insights into their customer base.
Since our launch in 2021, we’ve worked with some of the UK’s leading companies, including Octopus, Scottish Power and Philips — helping millions of people move toward a more stable, debt-free future. In 2023, we were acquired by Intrum, Europe’s biggest credit management service and have begun the next phase in our growth — expansion into 17 European markets over the next two years.
The Role - Marketing Executive
Words really matter at Ophelos. We work in a heavily stigmatised industry, where customers are often made to feel ashamed of their financial situation. At the same time, businesses struggle with legacy systems and outdated approaches. What we say, and how we say it, is a huge part of what sets us apart.
As we expand into new European markets, we’re looking for an exceptional Marketing Executive to to help shape our presence across multiple channels. Working directly with our Senior Marketing Manager, we’re looking for someone who can turn technical jargon into compelling narratives, bring creativity to our marketing initiatives, and help elevate our brand for both clients and customers.
Ophelos is an AI-native platform, meaning we build from the ground up with artificial intelligence at the core of our product and operations. We’re working in a really exciting space where a lot of our tech is a first for the industry, and much of your work will focus on these AI breakthroughs. AI will soon form a big part of our content production going forward - allowing the Marketing function to amplify efforts.

In this role, you’ll get to:
- Write with flair across B2B blog posts, thought leadership pieces, case studies, whitepapers, one pagers, press releases, the website and social media content.
- Command AI tools to generate and refine content, keeping our messaging sharp and engaging.
- Collaborate closely with our Senior Marketing Manager to build up Ophelos’ online brand presence and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Team up with the data and engineering teams to bring their work to life across written content and product demos.
- Manage the content calendar and schedule publishing across different channels.
- Support and coordinate a range of in-person and online activities from events to webinars.
- Use design tools to create on-brand assets and collaborate with designers where needed.
About you
We believe that no one is the finished article, however, some experience in the following is important for this role:
- You’re a magician with a pen, with 2+ years of experience in a writing-focused marketing position and are excited to use AI to amplify your efforts.
- You’re interested in the fintech space and AI - you don’t have to have experience in either sector, though it’s a plus.
- You’re a self-starter, looking to take on a role where you take ownership of the content function and understand its place in wider strategy (supported by our Senior Marketing Manager)
- You understand data in day-to-day marketing activities, using analytics to inform strategies, measure success, and refine campaigns for maximum impact
- You don’t think business content has to be dry (you could make a policy document sound exciting!).
- You’re a proactive problem solver, who is organised and able to communicate issues internally and externally.
