The Role:

Cognism is seeking a Compliance Manager to lead our compliance efforts from our London office. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation to be present in the office 2-3 times per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing compliance operations, supporting the business in maintaining regulatory standards, and managing key compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing day-to-day compliance operations.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for compliance-related inquiries, addressing customer and stakeholder questions with confidence.
  • Overseeing and responding to data subject access requests in collaboration with our Data and Compliance teams.
  • Overseeing compliance with internal processes and procedures periodically and reporting to line manager on how to mitigate against potential risks
  • Conducting thorough due diligence on key third-party vendors and partners, ensuring they meet compliance standards.
  • Developing and refining compliance documentation, templates, and conducting in-depth research on regulatory topics.
  • Managing the onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure all Cognism employees comply with security and compliance training requirements.
  • Leading Cognism’s ISO 27001/27701 and SOC2 audits, maintaining accurate records, and evidence collection.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance compliance processes and implementing improvements.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory requirements are met.

Requirements
Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; relevant compliance certifications are a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in a compliance role, preferably with management or leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data privacy regulations.
  • Knowledge of information security standards (ISO 27001/27701, SOC2, Cyber-essentials) [required].
  • Experience working in a tech company/start-up, in a fast-paced environment [highly desired].

  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively at all levels within the business.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and enthusiastic with a results-driven mindset.
  • Capable of multi-tasking with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English language).
