ABOUT MILLTOWN PARTNERS

Our clients operate at the frontiers of innovation - we advise technology companies driving change, global investors funding the future, the giants of sport and entertainment, and influential individuals on the communications and policy challenges that define their reputations. Our work spans corporate and financial communications, policy and public affairs to engage regulators and policymakers, policy communications and leadership communications. We underpin the full breadth of our capabilities with research-driven insights and campaigns. We're also pioneering AI-enhanced advisory work for both our clients and internal innovation, using technology to unlock insights from data at unprecedented scale and speed.

MILLTOWN PARTNERS AI STUDIO

Working with companies at the forefront of tech means that we understand the transformative impact AI is going to have on the world - and on our own business. We pride ourselves on the quality of our advice to clients, and we believe AI has the potential to significantly improve it. We also believe AI can unlock even greater potential in our people - freeing up time to spend in areas where it has the greatest impact, and giving people superpowers. But those things cannot be achieved just by using off-the-shelf chatbots. We are therefore building our own AI infrastructure that is designed around the work we do. Ultimately, what we are trying to achieve is to integrate AI into everything we do in a way that enables us to give better advice and allows our colleagues to achieve more.

The Milltown Partners’ AI Studio is responsible for delivering AI-powered innovation that elevates our advice and helps our colleagues achieve more. Our work encompasses both client-facing project delivery and the development of internal tools and capabilities. The team currently relies on a mix of generalists who split their time across AI Studio, communications, policy and research work, alongside a small number of dedicated specialists. Demand is growing quickly among clients, who increasingly want us to build bespoke AI-powered tools and workflows for them, alongside our traditional advisory work.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a communications or policy & AI solutions consultant to join AI Studio. You'll be embedded in client teams, working to deliver client-facing projects across comms, policy and research. This gives you the chance to own client work end to end: thinking creatively about what a client is trying to achieve and identifying the best route to get there. You’ll also be helping build new internal products that improve the quality and efficiency of the consulting team.

IS THIS YOU?

You may well think this isn’t you. But AI is still relatively new for everyone, and we’re not looking for a software engineer. We’re looking for someone with the enthusiasm to embrace new things, analytical rigour, and the aptitude to learn.

Your background will be in a comms, policy or research agency, and you will have vibe-coded tools that you (and possibly colleagues) use for work. You may not be programming-native, but you're technically capable in the broader sense - comfortable with tools, quick to learn, and confident building in ambiguous situations. You understand what clients are actually trying to do, you can empathise with non-technical stakeholders, and you can walk into a situation with no established system and make something good out of it.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Translate client needs into working solutions. You'll get client stakeholders - often non-technical - to articulate what they actually want, and turn that into a workable AI Studio project plan.

Build without an established playbook. You'll walk into situations with no existing system or process and build something good, drawing on tools-building experience from a sales, solutions architecture or agency background.

Own client relationships independently. You'll lead AI Studio accounts end to end, primarily with technology sector clients, acting as the trusted point of contact for both technical delivery and client strategy.

Contribute to internal AI Studio products. You'll help build and refine internal tools, such as our podcast and newsletter tools, bringing a client's-eye view to what makes them useful.

Flex across the wider practice. You'll pick up communications, policy or research work flexibly, bringing the same client empathy and adaptability to those briefs.

Build a collaborative environment. You'll give and receive feedback regularly, share what you know about client needs and solutions-building with colleagues, and contribute to an inclusive team culture.

Essential skills and experience

    • Have vibe-coded your own AI tools.

    • Technically capable and quick to learn new tools, even if not programming-native.

    • Comfortable building in ambiguous situations, without an established system or process to work from.

    • A strong ability to empathise with non-technical stakeholders and translate their needs into a workable brief.

    • Experience using AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) effectively and critically in a professional setting.

    • Collaborative instincts and a genuine commitment to contributing to an inclusive culture.

Desirable skills and experience

    • Two to six years' experience in a comms, policy and/or research agency.

    • A strong understanding of reputation management, communications or public policy.

    • Experience using Github, VS Code, Supabase and n8n.

    • Experience working directly with technology sector clients.

    • Experience building tools for others’ use as well as your own.

WHY JOIN US

We're an independent, employee-owned firm, which means the people who work here share in our collective success. We operate across London, Brussels, San Francisco, New York and Washington, D.C., advising technology companies, global investors, iconic brands and influential individuals on the communications and policy challenges that define their reputations. Our culture is built on five values: brilliance, restlessness, comradeship, inclusivity and integrity. We expect a lot from each other, but we also invest in each other – through honest feedback, shared learning and genuine care that goes beyond the work itself.

  • Competitive pay with transparent salary bands, plus twice-yearly bonuses

  • Professional development opportunities guided by our career framework and progression pathways

  • Private healthcare and dedicated mental health support

  • 26 days' holiday plus public holidays (outside of our annual Christmas break)

  • Hybrid working model, with three days a week in the London office (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday)

Ready to apply?

If this sounds like the right place to build your career, we'd love to hear from you. If the years of experience or salary band don't quite align with your expectations, please don't hesitate to get in touch - we're happy to talk it through.
