Multiverse is the upskilling platform for AI and Tech adoption.

We have partnered with 1,500+ companies to deliver a new kind of learning that's transforming today’s workforce.

Our upskilling apprenticeships are designed for people of any age and career stage to build critical AI, data, and tech skills. Our learners have driven $2bn+ ROI for their employers, using the skills they’ve learned to improve productivity and measurable performance.

In April 2026, we announced $70 million in strategic funding, led by Schroders Capital, with participation from StepStone Group, Lightspeed Venture Partners and General Catalyst. At an increased valuation of $2.1bn, the round makes us Europe’s first EdTech double unicorn.

But we aren’t stopping there. With a strong operational footprint and 800+ employees, we have ambitious plans to continue scaling. We’re building a world where tech skills unlock people’s potential and output.
Join Multiverse and power our mission to equip the workforce to win in the AI era.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Finance Operations Manager to join our Group Finance team at Multiverse, a Series D tech company on a mission to transform how businesses develop their people through AI and technology-led apprenticeships.

This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of Finance, Sales, People, and Legal. It exists to give Multiverse single-threaded ownership of Employee Compensation: everything related to how we calculate, account for, and pay our people sits with this role, end to end. You’ll own the calculation and accounting for our sales variable compensation plans, covering 100+ AEs and growing, the accounting for payroll and payroll-related costs, and the accounting for our employee share option plan (ESOP). You’ll be the Everstage system owner and the named point of contact for our external payroll provider, and you’ll partner with Revenue Operations on how we design and evolve compensation plans as the business grows. As we build a high-performing go-to-market engine, this role sits at the centre of that strategy from a Finance perspective.

For someone coming from an audit or financial controls background, this is a compelling step into industry. Your first-year priority is a significant one: you’ll write the accounting policy and design the process for the FRED 82 changes to FRS 102 as they apply to commission accounting, ready for our FY27 accounts, genuine ownership of a live technical accounting change, not just applying an existing standard. Beyond that, you’ll apply the controls expertise and analytical depth you’ve built in practice to a fast-moving, high-growth environment, driving automation as we scale. The pace, the complexity, and the IPO-readiness rigour we’re building toward will feel familiar, but the ownership and commercial exposure will be unlike anything you’ve had before.

Owning the full compensation stack end-to-end (commissions, payroll, bonus, and ESOP) means you’re the single point of accountability connecting variable pay and equity to the payslip and the balance sheet, not just one piece of the chain.

This is an individual contributor role today, with the opportunity to build and grow a team as we scale internationally. You’ll sit within Group Finance (an intentionally lean, AI-native team of high performers), reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, Finance Operations, who reports to the CFO, giving you direct visibility two levels from the CFO.

Specifically, you will:

  • Own the end-to-end calculation and accounting for our sales variable compensation plans, producing month-end reporting packs for Sales and Finance leadership

  • Lead the reconciliation of commissions data between our CRM and commissions system, maintaining integrity across all inputs including bookings, attainment metrics, and quotas

  • Write the accounting policy and design the process for the FRED 82 changes to FRS 102 as they relate to commission accounting, ready for implementation in our financial accounts

  • Act as system owner for Everstage, owning the vendor partnership end-to-end: plan configuration, dashboarding and reporting, and driving feature enhancements

  • Own the accounting for payroll and payroll-related costs, including the relationship with our external payroll provider

  • Own the calculations and accounting for our employee share option plan (ESOP), partnering with Corporate Legal on issuances, cancellations, and other events that affect those calculations, in line with FRS 102

  • Partner with Revenue Operations on the design and implementation of compensation plans

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Sales, People, and Revenue Operations on compensation queries, building trusted relationships across the business

  • Drive process improvement and automation across compensation processes: identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and use AI tools to improve efficiency

  • Lead on audit support and financial controls documentation across all areas of compensation accounting, bringing the rigour and standards expected of a business preparing for its next stage of growth

About you

  • You are ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualified, with 4–6 years of experience in audit, accounting, or a similar finance role, ideally from a Big 4 or mid-tier practice background. Prior industry experience is a bonus

  • You have strong knowledge of FRS 102 and are comfortable owning technical accounting policy from research through to implementation; direct experience accounting for variable compensation plans or ESOP is a bonus

  • You have experience accounting for complex, recurring transactions such as commission or bonus schemes, and can apply sound judgement to novel or changing standards, not just established ones

  • You are highly proficient in Excel or Google Sheets and comfortable working with large, complex datasets. Experience using a commissions system and managing a vendor relationship is a bonus

  • You bring a commercial mindset: you understand how financial processes connect to business outcomes and can communicate that clearly to cross-functional and senior stakeholders

  • You see AI and automation as core to how modern finance operations should run, and can point to examples of using them to redesign, not just speed up, a process

  • You thrive in high-ownership environments: you’re energised by taking full accountability for a broad, technically complex remit, working autonomously, and continuously raising the bar

Benefits

  • Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 5 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company-wide wellbeing days (M-Powered Weekend) and 8 bank holidays per year

  • Health & Wellness- private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub and access to Spill - all in one mental health support

  • Hybrid work offering - for most roles we collaborate in the office three days per week with the exception of Coaches and Instructors who collaborate in the office once a month

  • Work-from-anywhere scheme - you'll have the opportunity to work from anywhere, up to 10 days per year

  • Space to connect: Beyond the desk, we make time for weekly catch-ups, seasonal celebrations, and have a kitchen that’s always stocked!
