About The Role
The Commercial & Supplier Manager helps to develop and embed scalable supplier, tendering, contract management and commercial delivery models across Boldyn's UK&I delivery organisation.

Working closely with Boldyn Procurement, Delivery, Engineering, Programme Office, H&S and the Build Compliance Manager, the role is responsible for developing a high-performing supplier ecosystem across telecoms, wireless and digital infrastructure deployments, including DAS, Wi-Fi, fibre, private networks and associated infrastructure solutions.

The role focuses on supplier strategy, supplier performance, commercial governance, contract management and long-term partner development across System Integrators, Principal Contractors, design consultancies, specialist trades, M&E partners, fibre contractors, commissioning providers and other outsourced delivery partners. The objective is to create a smaller number of higher-performing suppliers that operate as long-term delivery partners aligned to Boldyn's quality, commercial and operational objectives.

A key requirement is strong commercial and QS capability, including schedules of rates, contract sum structures, cost build-ups, benchmarking, variations, final accounting, supplier performance management and commercial dispute resolution. The role will develop standard commercial approaches, contract structures and supplier frameworks that improve pricing confidence, strengthen commercial control and support more predictable delivery outcomes.

This role will ensure supplier commercial models, contractual obligations, scopes of work and performance expectations remain aligned with Boldyn's technical standards, build quality requirements and delivery objectives.

The role acts as the delivery organisation's focal point for supplier commercial management, supporting supplier onboarding, contract management, commercial governance, tendering activities, supplier performance management and long-term supplier relationship development across the wider delivery business.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supplier Strategy & Performance

  • Build a controlled supplier base with enough competition and capacity to support scaling, with clear scopes that give delivery teams viable options for easier supplier selectionutilisation and flexibility across different project types.
  • Manage onboarding and integration of System Integrators, Principal Contractors, designers, specialist trades and outsourced delivery partners, ensuring they are commercially, contractually and operationally aligned to fulfil Boldyn’s solution portfolio and wider delivery objectives
  • Work closely with Boldyn Procurement to ensure supplier engagement, onboarding, tendering, contract management and performance processes remain aligned to approved procurement routes, governance requirements and supplier management standards.
  • Work alongside the Build Compliance Manager to ensure supplier commercial models, scopes, technical expectations, workmanship standards and delivery obligations remain properly aligned.
  • Develop stronger long-term supplier relationships and partnership approaches aligned to Boldyn operational, commercial and delivery objectives
  • Support supplier performance management, benchmarking and continuous improvement across delivery activities.
  • Define, own and continuously improve Boldyn’s delivery governance standards, aligned to business objectives and regulatory obligations.
  • Establish and maintain delivery stage-gates / control points (e.g., mobilisation readiness, design freeze, build readiness, commissioning readiness, handover readiness).
  • Ensure consistent adoption of delivery documentation and controls (e.g., RAID, project reporting, schedule baselines, change control, acceptance criteria, handover packs).
  • Operate as the central point of expertise for delivery process and standards, ensuring they are fit-for-purpose across Enterprise, Telco, Offshore and Private Networks.
  • Ensure governance standards support bid / pre-sales delivery planning by providing standard assumptions, delivery models, risk frameworks and mobilisation checklists.

Tendering, Scoping & Commercial Models

  • Familiarise with Boldyn Procurement practices, guidelines, contract formats, approved routes to market, existing supplier base and tendering requirements to ensure delivery-side commercial activity is properly aligned.
  • Work closely with the wider delivery team (inc Delivery Standards & Transformation Lead and Heads of) to define a high-level list of required services, supplier types, contractor models, material suppliers and vendors needed to support Boldyn’s delivery function and productised solutions.
  • Develop appropriate SOWs in a QS-style format, aligned to the core requirements of the business, the Delivery design/build function and the new productised solutions being developed during the transformation phase.
  • Work with Designers, Delivery Managers, senior delivery leads and other relevant stakeholders to ensure SOWs properly reflect technical, build, commissioning, commercial and delivery requirements.
  • Develop SOW structures covering the required delivery packages, including full SI delivery, Principal Contractor, design support, build, commissioning, PIT testing, civil, M&E, fibre, coax, CAT6/7, specialist trade packages, material suppliers and vendors.
  • Develop detailed schedules of rates and associated guidance documentation that can be consistently applied across suppliers, delivery partners and repeatable delivery activities.
  • Support Boldyn Procurement through the tendering exercise, ensuring scopes, supplier categories, tender packages and commercial structures are fit for purpose and aligned to medium and long-term business requirements.

Commercial & QS Activities

  • Develop and maintain Boldyn’s delivery-side commercial framework, ensuring schedules of rates, contract sum templates, variation models and final accounting approaches remain aligned to supplier contracts, Boldyn Procurement processes and delivery requirements.
  • Ensure the contract sum templates are supported by clear commercial instructions, so supplier cost submissions are structured, auditable, predictable and aligned to Boldyn requirements. These templates will form the main commercial basis for supplier pricing, project cost development, variations and final accounts.
  • Act as the principal QS function for the Delivery organisation and develop the commercial capability of the wider Delivery team, so routine contract sums, variations and final accounts can be reviewed by delivery teams over time, with this role focusing on complex, unusual or higher-risk commercial matters.
  • Lead resolution of supplier cost disputes, pricing anomalies and contractual commercial disagreements arising during delivery.
  • Support benchmarking and commercial comparison of suppliers, trades, delivery models and routes to market to improve supplier selection, commercial performance and long-term value for money.

Supplier Integration & Delivery Alignment

  • Work closely with the Build Compliance Manager to ensure supplier scopes, technical expectations, workmanship standards and delivery obligations remain aligned.
  • Support supplier alignment to Boldyn delivery standards, governance principles and operational readiness expectations from a commercial and supplier management perspective.
  • Ensure supplier roles, responsibilities and commercial boundaries are clearly defined, so delivery teams can select and use the right suppliers more efficiently across different project types.
  • Support more efficient working relationships between suppliers, Engineering, Delivery, Programme Office and Boldyn Procurement.
  • Promote repeatable and scalable supplier delivery approaches that support Boldyn’s productised solutions and medium to long-term delivery requirements.

Capability Building & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop supplier guidance, onboarding documentation, commercial templates and supporting delivery documentation.
  • Support rollout and adoption of standard commercial and supplier management approaches across the business.
  • Identify commercial inefficiencies, supplier pain points and recurring delivery issues, feeding lessons learned into future standards development.
  • Improve commercial awareness within Delivery, helping teams better understand supplier pricing, contract sums, variations and final accounts.
  • Promote stronger commercial discipline, supplier accountability and long-term partnership models across the wider organisation.

Distance Working:

  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel extensively across the UK, including weekends
