ABOUT THE ROLE

Mortgages is a strategically important growth area within Mony Group, helping customers navigate one of the most significant financial decisions they will ever make. Through our trusted brands, market leading content and strong intermediary and lender relationships, we support customers in finding mortgage products that meet their needs while delivering value to our partners. 

This is a fixed term maternity cover role running until March 2028, offering the opportunity to lead a strategically important business area during an exciting period of growth, innovation and market evolution. 

As the mortgage market continues to evolve, driven by changing interest rate environments, regulatory developments, digital innovation and shifting customer expectations, this is a pivotal opportunity to shape how we grow, partner and compete. This is a high impact commercial role with end to end ownership of performance across Mortgages and related products, including equity release, conveyancing and surveys. You will drive the commercial function, bringing together trading, partnerships and proposition development to drive revenue growth, improve partner performance and strengthen MONY Groups position within the mortgage market. The role combines strategy, execution and leadership, with accountability for delivering sustainable growth in a complex and highly regulated environment. You will operate as a key member of the Home Services and Mortgages leadership team, influencing direction, shaping priorities and driving delivery across the business. 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • As the sole Commercial Manager for Mortgages, you'll be a significant driver of performance, strategy and growth of the Mortgages business, driving strong commercial outcomes, working with our technology provider, Podium Solutions Limited.   
  • You will support in the full ownership of Mortgages revenue, margin and growth targets, with accountability for overall commercial performance. 
  • Lead trading strategy and delivery, using insight, customer data and market intelligence to identify opportunities, close performance gaps and maximise commercial returns. 
  • Build and execute a clear channel, proposition and partner roadmap aligned to wider business strategy. 
  • Develop and manage relationships with lenders, brokers, fintech partners and other mortgage ecosystem participants, delivering joint growth plans and new revenue opportunities. 
  • Support commercial negotiations and strategic partnerships to enhance customer value, market competitiveness and business performance. 
  • Lead cross functional initiatives to improve conversion, customer journeys, proposition competitiveness and customer outcomes. 
  • Work closely with our Compliance and Regulatory department to ensure strong governance, regulatory compliance and financial controls, delivering good customer outcomes and maintaining alignment with FCA requirements and Consumer Duty obligations. 
  • Be part of a high performing team, inspiring, developing and assist in leading, embedding accountability, pace, ownership and customer focus. 
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regulatory developments, translating insight into clear commercial actions and strategic priorities. 

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Strong knowledge of the mortgage market, including key commercial drivers, customer behaviours, lender economics and intermediary relationships. 
  • Experience within Financial Services, FinTech or Ecommerce, operating in a commercially driven environment. 
  • Strong understanding of mortgage distribution models, lead generation, customer acquisition channels and conversion dynamics. 
  • Understanding of FCA regulatory requirements relevant to mortgage and lending products, including Consumer Duty and customer outcome obligations. 
  • Proven experience leading commercial functions and owning business performance, including revenue growth, optimisation and strategic delivery. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead strategic partner relationships, delivering long term commercial success with lenders, brokers and related partners. 
  • Strong commercial judgement and decision making capability, balancing short term performance with long term value creation. 
  • Ability to influence and align stakeholders across a complex organisation. 
  • Ability to translate data, customer insight and market intelligence into clear commercial strategy and measurable actions. 
  • Experience operating in growth, transformation or digital innovation environments. 
  • Strong understanding of customer journeys and the role of technology and propositions in driving engagement and conversion. 
  • A passion for helping consumers make better financial decisions and delivering market leading customer experiences.
