You will partner the UK and international markets, adding value and support through detailed analysis, offering insights on performance and supporting in partnering with the business leads in market.

You will also be responsible for supporting, as a part of the wider Commercial Finance team, the management of the budget and forecasting process and respective contribution into the 5YP. This will be in addition to weekly reporting, month-end reporting, and ad hoc commercial analysis.

Hybrid working applies to this role - 3 days per week from the office, maximum 2 days per week from home.

Duties & Responsibilities:
 
−     Prepare accurate and timely weekly/monthly reporting such as the weekly trade reports, resolving discrepancies when they arise and providing commentary on trade performance to be shared with the wider business.
−     Own key month‑end reporting tasks, including preparing journals, managing accruals and prepayments, and performing detailed data reconciliations to support accurate financial results
−     Prepare and review regional monthly P&Ls, including monthly review meetings delivering insights on performance to budget, reforecast, and prior year.
−     Prepare and review departmental spending, both at high level and drilling down to transactional level, providing commentary on variances to budget holders
−     Support with preparation of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts, by gathering inputs and updating models, ensuring accuracy and consistency
−     Support with the Group monthly reporting, including analysis and presentation
−     Support your team on scenario modelling on investments or key projects across the markets.
−     Support in ownership of the 5YP process, modelling, analysis, and delivery.
−     Assist your team with ad-hoc analysis relating to growth projects and management requests
−     Participate in team meetings, with finance and other stakeholders, chairing meetings where appropriate
−     Work collaboratively with all key stakeholders

Skills & Knowledge:

−     Part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or a candidate keen to pursue professional accountancy studies
−     Competent user of Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivots etc) and competent user of other Microsoft programmes such as Outlook and PowerPoint.
−     High attention to detail with excellent analytical and numerical skills.
−     Holds a commercial focus and is aware of overall business issues and commercial environment, perceives opportunities, and actively seeks information to support business decisions.
−     Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and work well to tight deadlines.
−     Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
−     Shows adaptability and can modify own behaviour and adopt a different style or approach to reach a goal enthusiastically and looking for more efficient ways of doing things.
−     Previous experience in the retail sector is desirable but not essential.
