Job Description
The Commercial Finance Analyst acts as a true business partner to client management and integrated production teams, providing financial and commercial support across the lifecycle of client projects across Jellyfish Creative.
You will report to the Global Commercial Finance Director for Creative and serve as the bridge between the business and finance across the Creative capability globally - driving revenue accuracy, profitability, and financial hygiene while ensuring all commercial operations align with client contracts and internal policies. This role offers end-to-end ownership of revenue and working capital for a portfolio of clients, empowering you to directly influence financial outcomes and strategic decision-making.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Revenue & Financial Management
Own end-to-end responsibility for revenue recognition across a portfolio of clients and services.
Deliver accurate, timely reporting of client revenue, forecasts, and profitability.
Manage client financials including forecasting, receivables, and working capital hygiene.
Support monthly close activities, including revenue and net revenue reconciliations.
Ensure all costs of sales are accurately recorded, reconciling with Accounts Payable as needed.
Partner with Accounts Receivable to maintain accurate billing, revenue, and contract alignment.
Maintain ownership of client P&Ls, including profitability and account staffing visibility.
Manage financial hygiene across assigned client accounts, including WIP, AR, and deferred/accrued income.
Commercial Operations & Client Partnership
Act as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned clients (by Parent Account).
Support client project setup, including contract review and financial documentation.
Participate in weekly or bi-weekly meetings with Client Management and Project Management to review:
New and open opportunities/pipeline
Active projects, delivery status, project reconciliations
Forecasts, provisions, and actuals
Review client fee proposals and assist with billing and fee structures.
Support production kick-off meetings to ensure client funding and supplier payments are aligned.
Approve projects in Salesforce in line with contractual and commercial details.
Work with FP&A to support reporting of client revenue and net revenue on a monthly basis.
Provide ad-hoc financial analysis, reports, and insights for business leads and the wider finance function.
Qualifications:
Essential
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with commercial awareness.
Proactive and hands-on with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Highly organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with strong data manipulation and reporting skills.
Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and influencing key stakeholders.
Driven and motivated, with a delivery-focused mindset.
2–4 years of experience in a similar commercial or client finance role.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Desirable
Experience in Commercial Finance within a creative, media, advertising, or digital agency environment.
Working knowledge of revenue recognition, billing operations, and agency finance systems.
Familiarity with Google Workspace, Salesforce, Encodify and Microsoft Office is a plus.
Studying towards or keen to pursue a professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).
