The UK Contract Lead will report to the General Counsel BA Europe and dotted line to the Regional General Managers for Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS) UK & Nordics. As a  Contracts Lead, you will become a member of the regional leadership team and provide legal advice on all commercial matters in the region.

Responsibilities
  • Review customer contract terms and conditions and make necessary amendments to align them with our terms and conditions policy and market practice.
  • Participate as a key member of the negotiating team in contract discussions with customers and suppliers.
  • Actively support the Cloud Connection strategy for our BA Service Business. 
  • Coordinate with other Honeywell functions to obtain input relative to their areas of expertise, consolidate and incorporate issues of concern into risk containment recommendations.
  • Provide experienced advice and guidance to global and regional leadership/ various functions.
  • Support Project Management and execution in any legal post-contract disputes.
  • Support and function as a focal point for external law firms to manage litigations.
  • Provide timely monthly reports of contract metrics and complex legal issues.
  • Liaise with other contract managers and General Counsels throughout the Honeywell group. 

Qualifications

Knowledge & Qualification:

Solid knowledge of UK construction law civil, trade and contracting laws.

Solid Knowledge of IP & privacy laws to successfully support the Cloud connection strategy

Knowledge in public procurement law is a plus.

Expertise and solid experience in contract negotiation principles and techniques.

Understanding of financial concepts and impact of contract terms on those concepts.

Ability to work in a matrix organization and support the business from a functional leadership perspective.

Education & Experience: 

Education: UK Legal degree

Any additional legal or commercial education is a bonus

Post SQE experience in commercial business or industry, preferably large companies in construction or technology industries.

Experience with high quality, high-cost products, services, and/or complex projects is a bonus

Experience in contractual dispute management.

Sound experience in analyzing contract terms & conditions and intelligent assessment of risks. 

Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Function as a team player, friendly, polite and self-motivated, adaptable and goal-oriented, willing to be a business enabler.
