Help shape the future of London’s bus network

Arriva London is looking for a commercially minded and analytical Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial team and play a key role in developing competitive tender proposals for Transport for London (TfL) bus route contracts.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our London operation, combining commercial analysis, financial modelling, tender development and operational insight to support key business decisions.

The role

Working closely with the Commercial Revenue Manager and Head of Commercial Planning & Revenue, you’ll analyse financial and operational data, support our TfL tendering strategy and help identify opportunities to improve commercial performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing high-quality and competitive TfL bus route tender submissions

  • Building, maintaining and improving tender models and commercial proposals

  • Costing tenders, MiniSpecs and other service changes

  • Analysing financial and operational information for prospective and existing routes

  • Reviewing contract performance against original tender expectations

  • Supporting the development of our rolling tendering strategy

  • Identifying opportunities to improve and automate commercial and tendering processes

  • Preparing business cases, analysis and tender summaries for senior stakeholders

  • Evaluating the London bus market and competitor activity

  • Working with TfL on tender plans and network amendments

  • Supporting negotiations to deliver the best outcomes for passengers and the business

  • Supporting route mobilisation following successful tenders

  • Collating and analysing financial and operational data to support TfL claims and revenue processes

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with data but can also see the bigger commercial picture.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Knowledge of TfL Bus tendering processes

  • Understanding of the TfL Bus network and Bus Action Plan

  • Knowledge of key accounting principles and commercial metrics

  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Confidence working with financial and commercial models

  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills

  • An interest in process improvement and automation

  • The ability to turn complex data into clear commercial recommendations

  • Confidence presenting information to senior stakeholders

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
