Job Description

At Zendesk, we’re on a mission to power exceptional service for every person on the planet. Behind every customer interaction is an opportunity to make a genuine human connection.

We’re accelerating that vision with cutting-edge, AI-first products, and we’re looking for a driven New Business Hunter to join our Commercial team across the UK & Ireland. If you’re energised by opening new markets, creating opportunities from scratch, and helping businesses understand the value of AI-powered customer and employee experience solutions, we’d love to hear from you.

The Impact:
What You’ll Actually Do as a New Business Hunter, you’ll own the full new-logo sales motion—from identifying and engaging the right accounts to creating qualified pipeline and winning new customers.

Create New Business: Build pipeline through structured outbound prospecting, account-based research, referrals, events, and targeted engagement with priority accounts.

Own Your Territory:

Develop and execute a focused territory plan, prioritising accounts based on business fit, transformation potential, buying signals, and access to relevant stakeholders.

Open Senior-Level Conversations: Engage VP, C-level, and functional decision-makers with credible, insight-led conversations about customer experience, employee experience, AI, automation, and business performance.

Lead Consultative Sales Cycles:

Uncover business challenges, quantify the impact of inaction, build compelling value cases, and guide multi-stakeholder buying processes from first conversation through close.

Create Qualified Pipeline:

Apply strong qualification discipline to distinguish activity from genuine commercial progression, ensuring opportunities have a clear business case, buying group, compelling event, and agreed next step.

Champion AI Innovation:

Help business leaders understand how Generative AI, automation, and intelligent workflows can improve service quality, operational efficiency, and customer loyalty.

Collaborate to Win:

Work closely with Solution Engineers, Marketing, Customer Success, partners, and sales leadership to create relevant account strategies and deliver excellent customer outcomes.

Own the Outcome: Consistently deliver against new-business targets, maintain accurate CRM data, and take responsibility for progressing opportunities through to successful close and handover.

Who You Are

You are proactive, curious, commercially minded, and comfortable creating opportunities where no active buying process exists. You can work independently, but you know when to bring in the wider team to increase your impact.

What You Bring:

New Business Sales Experience: A proven record of winning new-logo business in B2B SaaS, technology, or another complex solution-selling environment.

Hunter Mindset: Confidence and resilience in prospecting, opening doors, creating urgency, and progressing conversations with new accounts.

Commercial Curiosity:
The ability to understand a prospect’s business, identify meaningful change or growth priorities, and connect Zendesk’s solutions to measurable outcomes.

Executive Communication: Strong written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the credibility to engage senior stakeholders.

Consultative Selling: Experience running discovery, mapping buying groups, qualifying opportunities, handling objections, and building consensus across multiple stakeholders.

Pipeline Discipline: A data-driven approach to territory planning, forecasting, CRM hygiene, and maintaining a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.

AI and Technology Interest: Genuine curiosity about AI, automation, customer experience, and the changing expectations of modern businesses—with the ability to explain complex ideas simply.

Ownership and Resilience: An entrepreneurial approach, strong follow-through, and the determination to learn from setbacks and keep creating opportunities.

Collaboration: The ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams while remaining accountable for your own commercial results.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience selling Customer Experience, Employee Experience, contact-centre, CRM, or AI software.
  • Experience selling to mid-market or enterprise organisations.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, Clari, Gong, Outreach, Salesloft, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Experience building account-based or territory-led prospecting programmes.
