Meet the team behind this journey

We're looking for a driven, consultative Commercial Account Executive to spearhead DeepL's expansion across Iberia (Spain and Portugal), with a strong focus on strategic outbound business development. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage DeepL's world class brand presence and market position to proactively engage, educate, and build lasting relationships with new clients across this dynamic region. You'll take ownership of driving the full sales process from initial strategic outreach to closing, playing a vital role in expanding our commercial footprint.

Being based in London or Madrid, this role offers the chance to shape a high growth territory within Iberia. You'll strategically identify target organisations, craft meaningful outreach, and partner with key decision makers in organisations up to 500 employees, seeing the direct impact of your work as DeepL solidifies its position as the go to AI translation and communication solution in Iberia. If you're energised by generating new opportunities, solving complex client communication challenges, and being part of a highly collaborative international team, we would love to hear from you.

Your responsibilities

Drive strategic outbound business development and territory growth
  • Lead proactive market expansion: Identify, reach out to, and build relationships with key decision makers across target commercial accounts in Italy.

  • Build and nurture a high quality pipeline: Design and execute thoughtful, tailored outreach campaigns across multiple channels using email, phone, and LinkedIn to generate new business opportunities.

  • Become a trusted ambassador for DeepL's products and an expert on enterprise needs, tailoring conversations to solve real organisational challenges.

  • Guide prospects through a consultative sales cycle by qualifying leads, leading insightful discovery sessions, presenting tailored solution demonstrations, and closing deals.

  • Maximise value for clients by exploring upselling and expansion opportunities as relationships mature.

  • Seamlessly manage inbound inquiries alongside your outbound initiatives to maximise territory potential.

Achieve and exceed targets in a supportive environment
  • Consistently work toward achieving monthly activity, pipeline generation, and revenue goals.

  • Maintain accurate CRM forecasting and account insights to ensure clear tracking of customer needs, timelines, and strategy.

  • Collaborate closely with cross functional partners including SDRs, Marketing, and Product teams to co create strategies that drive regional success.

Qualities we look for

Experience and expertise
  • Proven track record in full cycle SaaS sales, with strong experience in proactive prospecting, pipeline creation, and closing new business.

  • Experience engaging and partnering with accounts up to 500 employees.

  • Strong alignment with consultative sales approaches by focusing on active listening, understanding client pain points, and delivering value.

  • Strategic, curious mindset with a strong sense of ownership over your territory growth.

Skills and attributes
  • Exceptional relationship building, presentation, and communication skills both written and verbal.

  • High adaptability and problem solving skills, comfortable navigating dynamic, fast paced environments.

  • Goal oriented and persistent, with a passion for initiating business conversations and creating momentum.

  • Strong team player who values collaboration, mutual support, and sharing knowledge across teams.

Language requirements
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is essential. Portuguese is a plus.

What we offer
  • Diverse and internationally distributed team: joining our team means becoming part of a large, global community with people of more than 90 nationalities. We're more than just colleagues; we're a group of professionals with a shared mission to connect diverse cultures. Our global presence is growing–we've doubled in size nearly every year, with our employees based in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the US, and Japan, and we continue to expand our network.

  • Open communication, regular feedback: as a language-focused company, we value the importance of clear, honest communication. We value smooth collaboration, direct and actionable feedback, and believe that leading with empathy and growth mindset makes us better together.

  • Hybrid work, flexible hours: we offer a hybrid work schedule, with team members coming into the office twice a week. This allows you to engage directly with your team and experience the unique energy of our workspace, while still enjoying the flexibility and comfort of working from home. With flexible working hours and trust in your productivity, we are in sync with your team's general locations and time zones to foster effective and seamless collaboration.

  • Regular in-person team events: we bond over vibrant events that are as unique as our team, from local team and business unit gatherings, to new-joiner onboardings, to company-wide events that bring us all together–literally.

  • Monthly full-day hacking sessions: every month, we have Hack Fridays, where you can spend your time diving into a project you're passionate about and get the opportunity to work with other teams–we value your initiatives, impact, and creativity.

  • 30 days of annual leave: we value your peace of mind. With 30 days off (excluding public holidays) and access to mental health resources, we make sure you're as strong mentally as you are professionally.

  • Competitive benefits: just as our team spans the globe, so does our benefits package. We've crafted it to reflect the diversity of our team and tailored it to align with your unique location, to ensure you feel supported every step of the way.

If this role and our mission resonate with you, but you're hesitant because you don't check all the boxes, don't let that hold you back. At DeepL, it's all about the value you bring and the growth we can foster together. Go ahead, apply—let's discover your potential together. We can't wait to meet you!
