We’re hiring for a Planning Manager across two major FMCG and Alcohol clients, Pernod Ricard and Arla as part of Carat in London.
Purpose of the Role
This role will lead the strategic planning and delivery of media activity across Pernod Ricard (70%) and Arla (30%), acting as a senior client partner and driving effective, insight‑led omni‑channel strategies.
Working on Pernod Ricard’s premium global brands, including Jameson, Absolut and Malibu, the role will deliver culturally relevant media plans that support brand growth in the UK market. For Arla, the focus will be on strengthening omni‑channel planning, driving learning and innovation, and supporting the long‑term, sustainable growth of a farmer‑owned business.
Across both clients, the role will lead account performance, develop high‑performing teams, and ensure excellence in planning, delivery and financial management in line with best practice and agency values.
Key Responsibilities
Account Leadership & Delivery: Lead multiple workstreams across the account, mobilising dentsu resources to ensure high‑quality delivery and consistently meet client expectations.
Strategic Development & Insight: Partner with strategy, senior planners and data teams to develop robust consumer journeys that inform and elevate strategic recommendations.
Senior Client Service & Growth: Deliver outstanding client service alongside the Client Account Director and Client Director, operating against agreed contact strategies and identifying cross‑sell and up‑sell opportunities.
Stakeholder & Channel Collaboration: Build strong senior relationships across channel and activation teams to ensure work is delivered on time, to a high standard, and with learnings applied to optimise performance.
Financial Governance & Operations: Work with the Operations Director to ensure robust financial management, including accurate PO processes, up‑to‑date tracking and adherence to spend commitments.
People Leadership & Development: Take full responsibility for developing direct reports, ensuring clear objectives, regular development planning, high engagement and sustained performance.
Person Specification
Media Industry Expertise: Senior‑level experience within the media industry (agency and/or client‑side), with a strong understanding of how UK media ecosystems operate.
Channel Knowledge: Proven expertise across key UK media channels, particularly AV, OOH and digital (including Programmatic and Paid Social), and how they work together to deliver integrated plans.
Analytical & Commercial Thinking: Demonstrated ability to analyse performance and numerical data, draw sound conclusions, and translate insight into clear, actionable recommendations.
Executive Communication: Confident communicator with the ability to present succinctly and credibly to senior internal and external stakeholders across written, verbal and presentation formats.
