We are part of Dentsu Sports International, a newly formed global sports network comprised of MKTG Sports + Entertainment, dentsu Sports Analytics and dentsu Sports.

We are looking for an experienced Client Manager to join the global MKTG team to help manage a key F1 client’s team partnership.

Purpose of the Role

As Client Manager you’ll work on an exciting global F1 sponsorship. You’ll be responsible for managing client relationships, with a focus on activation planning and strategy for key partnership assets including but not limited to show car, gaming rig, merchandise, licensing, and replica items. You’ll provide daily support and assistance in managing the client’s business and to keep day to day activities running smoothly. You will support the wider team in delivery on accounts, managing the capabilities and team to ensure on-time delivery and excellence in execution.

Reporting into the Client Director and Business Director, you’ll work closely with the global team on the future vision for the account and how we can unlock more opportunities across EMEA, managing day to day client relationships, owning client connections and relationships and leading by example on client service excellence. This is a key role in driving collaboration internally and externally with the client and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct the client team to effectively and efficiently manage retained client work and project work. This includes but not limited to, race day planning, management of at track branding, merchandise, at and off-track events, programme planning across social, ambassador, PR, on ground activations, showcar and gaming rig assets, working with the client to ensure their deliverables are met and much more.
  • Ownership and accountability for client/account fees and activation budgets, responsible for reporting on the commercials of your client responsibilities and being the key point of contact for finance related activities on the account.
  • Report on account time on a monthly basis, ensuring that timesheets for yourself and your direct reports are completed on time and accurately.
  • Support the new business function by participating in new client proposals and pitch processes and look to build opportunities from current client and new clients from across the business.
  • Lead the way in directing marketing initiatives, representing the agency at webinars and conferences and seek opportunities to do so.  

Qualifications + Skills

  • Experience working within motorsport and specifically Formula 1 is essential.
  • Experience in marketing from either agency side, client side or with a rights holder as well as experience working on sport sponsorships and activation programmes.
  • Technical knowledge of sponsorships and partnership marketing, as well as attention to detail and drive to manage and develop existing activation programmes.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management and client servicing excellence, a strategic and logical thinker who can provide council to our clients and suppliers in delivering best in class solutions.
  • Acumen to look at business performance for our clients and how this can be measured to make sponsorship assets more accountable.
  • A team mentality, building high performing teams both through line management and brilliant project work.
  • Able to thrive under pressure, enjoy working on sports/events and like to be part of a close-knit team.

This is a permanent role. The team is based in our London office but operates under flexible working arrangements, you’ll be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
