Company Description

Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor.

We’ve been safeguarding people’s financial futures since 1836, and strive to build a better society, while improving the lives of our customers and creating value for shareholders.

We are one of the world’s largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Together, these underpin our retirement and protection solutions: we are an international player in pension risk transfer, in UK and US life insurance, and in UK workplace pensions and retirement income.

Our global asset management business provides our clients and partners with complex, responsible investment solutions, working internationally across public and private markets.

Who we are

We are one of Europe’s largest asset managers and a major global investor across public and private markets.

Asset Management is a critical driver of our Group strategy. The business aims to work synergistically with our Institutional Retirement and Retail divisions to benefit our clients and customers, and deliver enhanced shareholder returns.

Our investment philosophy and processes are focused on creating value over the long term. We believe that incorporating financially material sustainability criteria, when relevant to our clients, can create value and drive positive change.

Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Client Director to join our Global Financial Institutions (GFI) team and be an integral part of the coverage team supporting our strategic relationships with GFI clients and coordination of relationships with these key global clients across Asset Management, working closely with our Regional Sales and Specialist Sales teams.

This individual will be responsible for expanding the distribution of L&G Asset Management products across both public and private markets, and both active and passive capabilities, working closely in partnership with regional Distribution teams and asset class specialists. The individual will also help support our Enterprise relationships with these important clients, working collaboratively across L&G Asset Management and the broader L&G Group.

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinating the relationships with GFIs, across all markets, in partnership with regional teams
  • Facilitating growth of overall global AuM/ANNR/revenue with GFIs
  • Building out coordinated Global Action Plans for top-priority GFI clients, including organisational mapping and coverage plans, and ensuring strong information-sharing across teams
  • Working with regional distribution teams in positioning L&G as a real partner to top priority GFIs and working with gatekeepers and selection teams to increase the number of L&G products approved
  • Working with global functional teams (i.e. product, investments, marketing, etc.) to build out requirements for the GFI channel and client positioning/core sales messages for GFI channel, funnelling insights from regional teams
  • Assisting with the coordination of C-Suite/senior level interactions and key client summits

Who we’re looking for:

  • Market knowledge – the individual will have a strong understanding of the wealth market and Global Financial Institutions
  • Client knowledge – the individual will have existing relationships with key gatekeepers across Global Financial Institutions
  • Product knowledge – the individual will have experience working in an asset management role, and experience with Active Fixed Income, ETFs, and Private Markets is beneficial
  • Asset Management / Distribution experience – the individual will have experience working in an asset management role, preferably in distribution and experience working with clients across geographies and product lines
  • Collaboration – the role will require a strong self-starter approach but success will be driven by working cross channel and with colleagues across Distribution, Product, Marketing and Investments
  • Stakeholder management – the individual will have a proven track record of a collaborative working attitude with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on shared objectives

Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance -related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
  • Generous pension contribution
  • Life assurance
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
  • Competitive family leave
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
  • There are many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
  • We’re creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in‑person experience
