About Mimecast

The work people build is worth protecting, and it's harder to protect than it used to be. AI agents now move at machine speed with human-level access, and a small slip-up can become a very public one. We disrupt cybercriminal activity before that happens. We think fast, go big, and always demand more of ourselves. We work hard, deliver, and repeat. We grow with real determination and put success well within reach. We push each other to be better and expect to be pushed back, in a community built on respect, where everyone is counted. Work Protected.

Overview

Sales is looking for a Chief of Staff, EMEA Sales to serve as a strategic partner and force multiplier for the SVP of Sales, driving the rhythm of the business, translating strategy into execution, and ensuring the sales organization runs with discipline and focus.

Operating as an extension of the SVP across Mimecast’s EMEA cybersecurity business, you’ll combine operating-cadence ownership, high-priority project leadership, and direct contribution to go-to-market strategy. This is a high-visibility role with direct access to the SVP, regular exposure to the executive leadership team, and significant influence over how the division sells, grows, and scales.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the SVP on strategic decisions, organizational design, resourcing, and priority trade-offs.
  • Prepare the SVP for board meetings, executive leadership reviews, QBRs, and all-hands by synthesizing data, framing decisions, anticipating questions, and drafting clear executive communications.
  • Represent the SVP in meetings when needed, triage priorities, and protect their time without creating bottlenecks.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Finance, HR, and Revenue Operations leaders to shape and execute EMEA go-to-market strategy, including segmentation, territory design, coverage models, capacity planning, quota setting, and pricing and packaging input.
  • Help launch and operationalize new go-to-market motions, including channel and partner initiatives, new products, and vertical strategies, from concept through field enablement.
  • Identify, prioritize, and lead a portfolio of strategic cross-functional initiatives, defining scope, milestones, success metrics, and accountability from strategy through execution.
  • Diagnose performance gaps across pipeline, conversion, attainment, and churn, translating root-cause analysis into concrete action plans with the sales leadership team.
  • Own the EMEA sales operating rhythm in support of the Global Sales organization, including forecast calls, pipeline oversight, large-deal reviews, monthly business reviews, and quarterly QBRs.
  • Partner with Sales Operations and Revenue Operations to maintain dashboards and executive reporting on pipeline health, bookings, quota attainment, productivity, budget, and headcount, flagging risks early.
  • Support the EMEA sales leadership team by aligning priorities, removing cross-team friction, leading change adoption, and helping execute culture, recognition, organizational planning, promotion, and talent-review initiatives.

What You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience operating at a strategic level across strategy consulting, investment banking, sales or revenue operations, go-to-market strategy, Chief of Staff, or business operations roles, with the autonomy to advise senior executives and lead complex initiatives.
  • A demonstrated track record of leading cross-functional programs from strategy through execution and delivering measurable business impact.
  • Strong understanding of sales methodology, pipeline and forecast management, and revenue operations concepts and tools, such as Salesforce, Gong, MEDDIC or MEDDPICC, ARR and NRR, and pipeline coverage ratios.
  • Meaningful experience using AI tools to create business value and an interest in helping build an AI-enabled sales intelligence and operating motion; experience with Claude would be advantageous.
  • Executive presence and exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the credibility to present to a board and coach a frontline seller.
  • Sharp analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to build and interrogate models, dashboards, and board-level narratives.
  • High emotional intelligence and political awareness, with the ability to build trust and influence across Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, HR, and Customer Success without formal authority.
  • A bias for action, structured problem-solving skills, and the ability to move fluidly between high-level strategy and detailed execution in an ambiguous, fast-changing environment.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information, including organizational changes, performance issues, and M&A-adjacent topics.
  • Experience supporting a senior sales or revenue executive at SVP or CRO level is strongly preferred; experience in B2B SaaS or cybersecurity is a significant advantage.
  • The ability to commute to Mimecast’s London headquarters; being based within commuting distance would be beneficial.

The base salary range for this position is £124,000 - £186,000 plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
