Job Summary
We are seeking a Ceded Reinsurance Analyst with around 3 years of experience to support the design, placement and administration of ceded reinsurance programmes. Working closely with Placement Officers and cross-functional teams including Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Analytics, Legal, Operations, Brokers and Reinsurers, you will contribute to portfolio optimisation, risk management and successful reinsurance renewals.
This role is well suited to someone with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage large datasets, and a desire to develop their expertise within the reinsurance market.
As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
- Approximately 3 years' experience within reinsurance, insurance, or the London Market, ideally with exposure to ceded reinsurance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret large datasets to produce meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Good quantitative and qualitative analysis skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with data analysis and reporting tools is advantageous.
- An interest in developing a strong understanding of the reinsurance market, including contract wordings, market trends and placement processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative team player who is proactive, willing to share knowledge and continuously improve processes.
- Good negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of accuracy, professionalism and personal accountability.
Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role
- Experience working within the London Market or a specialty insurance environment.
- Exposure to ceded reinsurance placements, treaty or facultative reinsurance.
- Familiarity with reinsurance concepts, contract structures and policy wordings.
- Experience preparing submission packs, renewal documentation and management information (MI).
- Experience maintaining reinsurance data and systems of record.
- Experience working with brokers, underwriters and cross-functional teams including Actuarial, Claims, Operations or Analytics.
- Exposure to process improvement initiatives, automation or technology-driven projects.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query and data analysis.
- Experience using reporting or data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
- Progress towards a relevant insurance or risk management qualification is desirable.
