About the role

As a Category Procurement Lead – Indirect, you will operate in an operational execution role, reporting into the Category Management team. You will be responsible for implementing and delivering sourcing strategies across facility management and other indirect procurement categories in Europe. These may include areas such as waste management, cleaning services, PPE, office equipment, and supplies.

This role works closely with internal stakeholders across multiple sites to translate business needs into actionable procurement activities. The focus is on driving execution, ensuring supplier performance, delivering cost efficiencies, and maintaining compliance and risk control across the supply base.

You will act as a key link between local stakeholders and the central Category Management team, supporting the rollout of category strategies while ensuring alignment and consistency across multiple business units.

How you will contribute

  • Initiate, draft, present, validate & sign off, implement and execute procurement sourcing plans/strategies that are aligned with the Category Management Procurement strategy set by the Procurement Manager/Director Indirect.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify needs, provide guidance, and deliver procurement solutions
  • Lead sourcing projects, including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract execution
  • Manage supplier relationships to improve performance, quality, and long-term value
  • Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and supplier landscapes to inform decision-making
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and build a sustainable savings pipeline
  • Support consolidation of spend and optimization of supplier portfolios across Europe
  • Ensure contracts are reviewed, validated, and compliant in collaboration with legal teams
  • Maintain accurate category data, cost analysis, and performance tracking
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, standardization, and process improvement
  • Contribute to risk management strategies to ensure supply continuity and competition

What you will bring

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in category management, preferably within indirect categories such as facility services
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree required & preferable certified or actively seeking certification in CIPS/NEVI or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Soft and Hard facility services (e.g. waste, janitorial, office supplies, PPE & uniforms, building maintenance, safety, quality services)

  • Ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Exceptional stakeholder ownership and influence with a project manager mindset: Proven ability to lead in a highly complex, low-priority portfolio with decentralised European stakeholders - proactively driving delivery, structuring work, following up, and effectively persuading sites to adopt a centralised approach while bridging organisational, cultural, and priority gaps.

  • Able to review among others Waste and Cleaning contracts from a commercial and legal perspective

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate, influence, and build trust
  • Analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision-making
  • Willingness to travel across Europe: Able and open to frequent travel to engage stakeholders on-site, build relationships, and drive alignment in a decentralised environment.
