Category Insights Director

Position Overview: SharkNinja, a leader in innovative, high-quality consumer products, is seeking a highly experienced Director of Category Insights to spearhead our strategic sales, analytics, and category management efforts. This senior role is critical in driving category growth by leveraging advanced data-driven insights to shape sales strategies, optimize product assortment, and elevate overall business performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, a deep understanding of the consumer goods industry, and the capability to translate complex data into strategic initiatives that drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Insights Development:

  • Lead the analysis of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to generate high-impact insights that support strategic sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Identify and prioritize growth opportunities across product categories, recommending and implementing strategies to capitalize on these opportunities.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to refine and execute category strategies, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

Advanced Sales Analytics:

  • Oversee the evaluation of sales performance across various channels and regions, driving strategic insights that inform decision-making at the highest levels.
  • Lead forecasting efforts for sales trends, identifying potential risks and developing proactive strategies to mitigate them.
  • Provide executive-level insights into pricing, promotions, and assortment optimization to maximize profitability and market share.

Data Governance & Reporting Excellence:

  • Direct the management and maintenance of comprehensive databases related to sales, market data, and consumer insights, ensuring robust data governance practices.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of executive reports and dashboards, effectively communicating critical insights and performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Ensure the highest standards of data accuracy and integrity across all reporting systems, driving continuous improvement in data management processes.

Stakeholder Management & Strategic Partnerships:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with third-party data vendors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data and insights that enhance strategic decision-making.
  • Act as a strategic partner to sales, marketing, and product teams, ensuring seamless alignment on strategies, goals, and execution plans.
  • Present complex findings and strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders in a clear, concise manner, driving informed decision-making and business growth.
  • Foster and expand partnerships with external data providers, continuously enhancing the quality and scope of insights available to the organization.

Continuous Innovation & Improvement:

  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends in data analytics, consumer insights, and category management, driving innovation within the team.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new tools, technologies, and methodologies that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Category Insights function.
  • Lead initiatives to improve data collection processes and analytical capabilities, ensuring the team remains a center of excellence in data-driven decision-making.

Key Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in a senior insights or analytics role within the consumer goods industry, with a proven track record of driving business growth through strategic insights.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable business strategies.
  • Proficiency in advanced data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL) and a deep understanding of data governance best practices.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at the executive level.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a relentless commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • A strategic thinker with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation in data analytics and insights.
