Job Description

What you'll Do

The satellite industry is undergoing unprecedented changes as new entrants and technological advances fundamentally transform the market. To stay at the forefront of this fast-changing landscape, the Strategy and Growth Programmes team leads the charge for Global Government in developing and executing strategies and plans that keep Inmarsat competitive in our markets today and into the future.

One such initiative is the AirIQ product portfolio, through which the International Government seeks to expand its satellite communications business in the global aeronautical market segment. We are looking to provide a scalable and flexible beyond-line-of-sight communication solution for regional operations to disseminate mission system data in real-time from airborne platforms to key end-users. The programme is expected to deliver a compelling platform-based solution for this segment backed by a comprehensive go-to-market and capture strategy.

As a Capture Programme Manager, you will report to the Senior Strategy and Go-to-Market Manager and work across the wider organisation to define, plan, deliver, and evaluate the capture programmes that will support the Air-IQ and the wider government aeronautical go-to-market plans as needed.

The day-to-day

  • Develop and document a cohesive capture strategy for key aeronautical platforms across our global footprint.
  • Secure the appropriate buy-in for the capture strategy, establish the appropriate programmes to support its delivery, and manage and follow through on the execution.
  • Enable and ensure coordination with key stakeholders, including but not limited to sales, technical and commercial teams, to develop capture plans for individual opportunities covered by the capture programmes.
  • Drive specific initiatives, such as Customer journey mapping, to understand customers’ requirements and hot buttons and ensure the right technical and commercial solutions are developed to address these requirements.
  • Work in partnership with the technical and sales teams to coordinate on developing key enablers to improve the opportunity win chances, as per the programme’s needs, e.g. new Supplemental Type Certificates (STC).
  • Implement methodical work planning and scheduling to ensure timely delivery of the capture plan and provide Management Information to ensure visibility of work progress.
  • Define key performance metrics, dependencies, and risks to track the execution and measure the success of the overall capture plans, including the progress of sales opportunities towards revenue capture.
  • Clearly communicate and report on the progress of the capture plans and recommendations to key stakeholders on a regular basis.

Qualifications

What you'll Need

  • Prior experience in a programme management customer-related role within the aeronautical market or related industry, preferably in a Business to Government industry context.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and delivering within deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to change and quickly tailor to changing priorities.
  • Strong IT Skills (Excel & PowerPoint are essential)

What Will Help You On The Job

  • Experience in the satellite communications, telecom, or IT industry.
