CAPEX Engineering Project Controller

Location: United Kingdom, Relocation Supported

We are thrilled to announce an outstanding opportunity for the role of CAPEX Engineering Project Controller at Lonza AG. This role is pivotal in ensuring the flawless execution of our ambitious projects within a dynamic and encouraging environment. Key responsibilities:

  • Build and measure project schedules and cost forecasts across the portfolio to ensure seamless execution.
  • Provide weekly critical metrics (Cost, Schedule, and Resource) & performance analysis in terms of cost control, schedule, and forecast accuracy; perform detailed analysis where necessary.
  • Review cost and schedule estimates against established norms to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop project cost controlling and capitalisation structures to lead the reporting and asset capitalisation efficiently.
  • Manage the monthly forecast cycle and accruals, making improvements to increase cash flow accuracy.
  • Review prefunding cost estimates versus established norms and make appropriate suggestions to improve project performance.
  • Support the annual target setting for CAPEX and maintenance budgets, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

Key requirements:

  • Degree in Project Management, Business, Accounting, Finance, or Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Project Scheduling certification (PMI or similar) required; Financial Control certification (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIA or similar) preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and experienced SAP user; proficient in project controls techniques (WBS elements, Process Orders, Internal Orders, etc.).
  • Proven cost accounting experience with a strong understanding of LEAN thinking and root cause analysis.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels and departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work strictly within project timelines and successfully implement project goals.
