Business Solution Director

What does a successful Business Solution Director do:

You will  join our growing payments technology team within a leading global financial services company.  As a Business Solution Director you will work across the various development lifecycle stages (SDLC, Agile, Combinations) of the system, working through ideas, concepts and forming requirements, solutions, and designs. You will lead a team of business solution consultants and analysts in tight unity with our clients and internal stakeholders.  You will also work closely with product, service & development divisions and in with our vendors that are an integral part of our solutions. 

What you will do:

  • Design scalable, secure and resilient architectural integration solutions with new products, systems and client domains that comply with company, regulatory and cyber security requirements and standards.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Products and Engineering teams to ensure technical strategy and solutions align with business goals.
  • Define and drive end-to-end architecture strategy in the payments domain (cards and loans) with primary focus on architectural controls and governance.
  • Responsible for technology, architecture, process, platform, resource planning, project plan commitments, setting milestones and targets for internal investment and improvement projects, large migration programmes and BAU client projects.
  • Provide guidance, planning and direction for business unit(s), maintain budgets and proactively allocate resources and time for the business units or functions supported.
  • Provide leadership across well-defined and homogeneous teams with moderate degrees of complexity. Interpret the IT strategy and align resources and people to meet strategy goals.
  • Provide support for Bid, Sales, Product Improvement, Solutions and Delivery Estimates.
  • Deliver successfully the Regulatory and Scheme Compliance changes.
  • Responsible for Production Support and Incident Management. 
  • Client and internal consultancy regarding credit and debit card processing and architectural integration solutions.
  • Projects/Change and deployment of enhancements, new technology and products.
  • Parameter controls. Support client and internal driven parameter changes using due governance & controls. 
  • Drive end to end solutions through working with key business clients and engineering groups to engineer end to end process and IT solutions.
  • Analysing, designing, programming consultancy, unit testing of programming changes for both Incident Management as well as development for medium to large scale projects associated with platform applications.
  • Manage the delivery of business cases, scope and requirements documents, use-case documentation, test plans, and rollout communications.
  • Guide the design of customer centric payment solutions with an understanding of the transaction lifecycles, clearing and settlement, fraud prevention, etc.
  • Develop and manage direct relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure the business solutions are aligned with their goals and priorities, and how process automation through IT solutions will help them reach their goals.
  • Create and maintain a cohesive, coordinated plan to deliver solutions that meet the stakeholders’ priorities within budgetary and product requirements.
  • Define and gain agreement on a project budget – ensure project tracks to the budget.
  • Provide in-depth business and technical strategy for systems solutions, identify business gaps and correlate to potential solutions.
  • Analyse and document requirements and use appropriate techniques to refine, decompose, review and validate requirements.

What you will need to have:

  • Minimum of 10 years Cards, Payments experience with Software application support and/or development experience (VisionPLUS preferred)
  • A very thorough understanding of the credit and debit card payment services industry on both the issuing and acquiring sides of the business.
  • Strong understanding of online integration concepts to support digital strategy.
  • Experience working with any other payment solutions including mainframe environments.
  • Strong knowledge of emerging technologies with good understanding of how technology relates to business, market and industry and applies such knowledge to support the needs of the business.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of application development technologies, tools, methodologies as well as all functional areas in an IT organization.
  • Ability to understand current/changing business processes, participation in defining application and platform functionality.
  • Can identify business issues and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Holds leadership skills and can focus on the vision, strategies of the client and Fiserv while managing the tactical components of running the daily business.
  • Excellent analysis and critical thinking skills
  • Exposure to project/program management skills using SDLC Waterfall and Agile across small to large-scale cross enterprise IT systems implementations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive product and program management experience with techniques such as use case analysis, data / process flow diagramming, process mapping and requirements documentation is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a solution, architecture, support and development role in the cards or payments industry. 
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure, application architecture and distributed knowledge
  • Experience with complex technical concepts and manage various phases of SDLC.
