Job purpose
This role plays a critical part in bringing our Product, Technology and Engineering teams into seamless alignment with the wider business. By creating a connected planning approach, it links long‑term strategic ambition with annual planning cycles across Tesco Media, Tesco and dunnhumby.
The purpose of the role is to ensure priorities are shared, decisions are joined‑up, and teams move forward together with clarity, confidence and a unified sense of direction—enabling better outcomes for our business and partners.

Key accountabilities | What you’ll do
- Lead the development of long‑term business strategies and short‑term operational plans, ensuring alignment across functions.
- Partner with senior leaders and executives to identify growth opportunities, surface risks, and drive clear actions and mitigations.
- Analyse current business conditions to spot patterns, trends and insights that inform strategic decision‑making.
- Monitor and interpret key financial metrics, translating data into actionable commercial insight.
- Support the definition and ongoing tracking of KPIs and OKRs, providing visibility of performance against business priorities.
- Regularly review performance against plans and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams (including propositions, sales and operations) to ensure business plans are aligned and understood.
- Facilitate cross‑functional planning and alignment sessions to drive shared understanding and accountability.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, embedding best practices in business planning and financial analysis.

Qualifications & experience | What we’re looking for
Essential
- Experience in Business Planning, Programme Management or Project Management.
- Experience working in change management environments.
- Strong analytical skills with solid commercial and business acumen.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Hands‑on experience using SharePoint Online, Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline, such as business, retail management, knowledge management or a related field.
