In this role, you will be one of the first Business Development Representatives driving new business target segments for Deputy. You will be collaborating cross-functionally with different stakeholders to execute on a new outbound strategy. We’re looking for a positive, outgoing, and ambitious individual to join the team and help drive our sales efforts. 


This person will work predominantly on sourcing and building pipelines for our Account Executives in the Mid-Market and Enterprise segments. Specifically you will be working on building relationships with leads in our ICP, with a mix of social selling, traditional outbound email and cold calls, text messaging, and whatever tactics necessary to bool demos for the AEs. 

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source, engage and qualify strategic prospects in target segments and industries to generate pipeline and create qualified opportunities for our EMEA sales team Engage with potential clients through various communication channels such as calls, emails, LinkedIn, texts and live chat platforms aimed at creating new business opportunities
  • Run your own qualification calls with prospects, helping to determine if they should be passed to AEs for the next stage
  • Demonstrate attentive listening skills when understanding customer requirements and articulate how we can meet those needs better than other solutionsTake rigorous notes and maintain data cleanliness in the CRM to ensure quality handoff to AEs
  • Consistently meet established quota targets that will contribute to the company's revenue growth.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • At least 1 year professional quota-carrying sales experience as an outbound BDR or similar role at a Saas company, with a proven track record of achievement and the desire to build a career in sales 
  • Team player and demonstrated ability to work well in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities 
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills 
  • Excellent phone presence and interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral
  • A love for making an impact and working with a team to hit key goals and metrics 
  • Passion and curiosity around technology with the ability to comprehend and articulate value points to customers 
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and other sales enablement tools (i.e. Groove, Outreach, Sales Navigator)Startup and/or people tech experience is a plus!
