Business Development Manager, Mastercard Services (Financial Services)

Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this agile team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services.
As a member of our Services sales team, you will be on the frontlines - building excitement and generating demand for our unique services - while partnering with solutions experts to achieve the desired end. As a Services Business Development Manager, you will lead business development and sales for Mastercard Services mainly focusing on major issuing clients as well as new and established fintech players in Portugal.
About the Role:
• Together with existing team, shape Mastercard Services growth strategy in Portugal and execute against that strategy • Ownership of the sales process from prospecting to writing well-structured and persuasive proposals to demonstrations and commercial contract execution • Collaborate with Mastercard account managers and clients to identify new business opportunities-particularly within Financial Services-while communicating opportunity areas, ensuring stakeholder alignment, and managing dependencies • Building effective working relationships across management levels in client organization • Identification of client's pain points, root causes and potential solutions • Understanding of client's organizational systems and taking a considered approach to problem solving for the client's unique situation • Partnering with project team to ensure project quality and identification of follow-up sales opportunities
All About You:
• Undergraduate degree required, Masters, MBA or relevant post graduate degree recommended • Extensive experience in Strategy Consulting working with Financial Services (experience in payments is an advantage) • Track record of building trusted relationships at C-suite level, exhibit strong relationship management skills using consultative skills to create and convert pipeline opportunities in the market • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth fostering lasting partnerships by developing and communicating clear value propositions • Have a strong consultive sales approach focused on meeting the needs of customers by getting to know them and building a trusting relationship with them • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English and in Portuguese both verbally and in writing • Entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, self-starter and strong commercial sense • Excellent client management & engagement management skills • Ability to multi-task independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
