Birmingham | Hybrid Field-Based Role

Advance your sales career with LOCALiQ.
We're looking for an experienced Business Development Executive to take ownership of a brand-new territory across Birmingham. This is a genuine new business role, ideal for a driven sales professional who enjoys building relationships from scratch, creating opportunities, and winning new clients. Ideally, you'll come from a media, publishing, advertising, digital marketing, or similarly consultative commercial environment.

Working for LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group, you'll help businesses grow through a powerful portfolio of digital marketing, media and advertising solutions. You'll be responsible for identifying prospects, opening doors, securing meetings, and developing consultative partnerships with business owners and decision-makers across your patch. This is a role for someone who thrives on outbound sales activity and enjoys the challenge of building a territory. You'll be comfortable generating your own opportunities, managing a pipeline, and taking prospects through the entire sales process from initial contact through to close. After securing the business, you will be able to grow spend and retain the client to grow your own revenue pipeline.

This is a hybrid role, combining field-based client meetings across Birmingham, working from home, and attendance at our Worcester office once per week. Due to the nature of the territory, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
This is more than just another sales role. It's an opportunity to build a long-term career with one of the UK's leading media and digital marketing businesses, taking ownership of a brand-new territory and making a visible impact from day one.

You'll join a growing commercial team where success is recognised and rewarded, with genuine opportunities to progress your career and increase your earnings as your client portfolio develops.

Year one on-target earnings are circa £45,000, with significant scope for year-on-year earnings growth for ambitious sales professionals who consistently win new business and build long-term client relationships.

  • Work to clear financial targets and KPIs, consistently striving to exceed monthly revenue goals and performance benchmarks
  • Manage and grow existing client accounts, providing ongoing support, identifying upsell opportunities, and increasing client spend through strategic recommendations
  • Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, using a consultative approach to move prospects through the sales cycle
  • Build long-term relationships with clients by providing expert advice, excellent service, and ongoing support
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and campaign delivery for new clients
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and LOCALiQ’s evolving product suite to maintain a competitive edge
  • Represent LOCALiQ with professionalism and credibility, acting as a trusted ambassador for our regional news brands
