Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Business Continuity Analyst within our Group Business Resiliency Team.

Sompo’s Business Resiliency Program establishes a robust framework to enhance organizational resilience and recovery capabilities. This program is designed to protect the interests of key stakeholders and preserve the company’s brand, reputation, and business operations. By proactively identifying and mitigating both internal and external business disruptions, the program ensures Sompo is prepared for a wide range of potential challenges. Additionally, it enables rapid and efficient recovery of Sompo’s facilities, employee work, third-party relationships, technology, and data, ensuring business continuity in the face of unexpected disruptions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist in the development, execution and maintenance of business continuity documents including business impact analysis and office risk assessments.
  • Support business recovery, crisis management, and disaster-preparedness planning within the organization.
  • Disseminate information on business continuity processes, standards and initiatives.
  • Assist the Senior Business Continuity Analyst in analyzing BC data.
  • Assist in coordinating business continuity exercises and testing of the mass notification system.
  • Provide support throughout live events that impact the business continuity plan.
  • Engage, deliver and track business continuity training to new and existing members on site crisis management teams.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring

  • 2+ years’ experience as a BC Analyst or related role with a business continuity designation / certification from the BCMI or DRI.
  • Experience with crisis / incident management
  • Good understanding of BCM standards & frameworks, operational resilience regulations and IT DR.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects/assignments simultaneously and complete tasks accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, data analytic tools (e.g. Power BI), business continuity software (Fusion Risk Management, CAMMS, RPX Platform, etc.) and SharePoint or other document repositories
  • IT DR Experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-starter, resourceful and a quick learner
