Serve as the link between upstream and downstream systems for the Outwards Reinsurance transformation. Manage and prioritise the product backlog, define the roadmap, write traceable requirements and Gherkin-based acceptance criteria, support process mapping and Target Operating Model documentation, and work within Agile to keep deliverables on track.
We're working with a London market (re)insurer on a business-critical transformation initiative within their Outwards Reinsurance function. This is a hands-on delivery role, not a pure analyst position; we want someone with outwards reinsurance background who has moved into business analysis or project delivery. You'll sit between upstream and downstream systems, working closely with the Product Owner and Scrum Master to help shape the future-state Outwards Reinsurance function. What matters most here is how quickly you can build trust with stakeholders, bring people with you through change, and keep pace with delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and prioritise the product backlog with the Product Owner, keeping delivery aligned to business objectives
- Help shape the product roadmap with the wider delivery team
- Document business requirements and user stories with full traceability
- Support process mapping and Target Operating Model documentation where it adds real delivery value
- Build stakeholder relationships that drive adoption and change, not just documentation
- Work at pace - get into the detail you need to make decisions, then move on
Requirements
- The ideal path has moved from an outwards/ceded reinsurance technician role (or similar — underwriting assistant, reinsurance review analyst, reinsurance accounting) into business analysis, project, or change delivery, ideally including hands-on experience on a system implementation project. We'll also consider strong candidates who've built the same depth of reinsurance knowledge a different way
- Software or platform delivery experience - you've worked on systems, not just MI or reporting
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment, able to build and manage a backlog alongside a Product Owner and Scrum Master
- Familiarity with London market infrastructure
- A people-first approach to stakeholder management
- Easy to work with. Technical skill alone isn't enough here - this team cares about fit
- Confident writing clear, traceable requirements and user stories
Benefits
Initial 6 months, with strong likelihood of extension, immediate start.
