Now, we’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join us in Amsterdam, helping accelerate Tise’s next chapter of growth and innovation. You’ll be part of eBay’s global technology organization while working closely with the dedicated Tise team — including frequent collaboration and travel to our headquarters in Oslo, Norway, where the majority of the Tise team is based. This role offers a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of a fast-moving scale-up and one of the world’s largest, most established marketplaces.
The Tise team consists of 100+ talented colleagues, with 30+ engineers across Backend, Data/Machine Learning, Web, iOS, Android, and Growth. While this role is based in Amsterdam, you’ll work as an integrated part of the Oslo-based engineering team, collaborating closely across disciplines to build inspiring, intelligent, and scalable product experiences.
What you will bring:
Design, build, and scale our APIs and backend services that power core marketplace functionality
Primarily work in Node.js with Typescript backed by MongoDB
Occasionally work with our Python Django APIs backed by Postgres
Partner closely with engineers, product managers, and designers across Amsterdam and Oslo
Contribute to high-impact areas such as search, recommendations, shipping, payments, growth initiatives, and safety on our platform
Help drive engineering excellence, improving architecture, testing, deployment, and operational practices

Work from our Amsterdam office with regular opportunities to collaborate in person with the Oslo HQ team
Help scale a marketplace that makes sustainable living easier and more inspiring
