Credit Portfolio Management (“CPM”) is a global function that is responsible for actively managing MUFG Bank’s loan portfolio including monitoring the credit quality and efficiency of the loan portfolio, developing and executing hedging and loan sales strategies to protect/optimize the bank’s capital using real-market information, market research and traditional fundamental credit analysis. In addition, CPM works closely with the business lines to participate in the analysis and evaluation of new business opportunities and provide exposure management solutions as necessary.

In region, the CPM Office for EMEA (“ECPMO”) optimises MUFG’s balance sheet by managing credit exposures, enhancing portfolio efficiency and supporting the region’s goal of generating returns above the bank’s cost of capital. Supported by the Business Management team, our Portfolio Management & Solutions team has three key strategic priorities: building the GCIB business, increasing asset velocity through distribution and generating crosssell across the franchise. Working closely with partners across GCIB, including Coverage, Syndications and Credit, we ensure alignment between portfolio risk, capital strategy and commercial growth. We are organized into three functions: xVA Management & Market Execution, Credit Insurance Solutions and Advisory & Research.

The Credit Insurance Solutions team is responsible for arranging and the end-to-end lifecycle management of credit insurance solutions for the EMEA balance sheet. Acting as trusted partners to origination and deal teams, they provide independent, commercially grounded advice on the suitability and viability of insurance solutions as a distribution strategy as well as in the context of balance sheet and return management.

In close co-operation with deal teams and asset owners the team acts as product office and arranges and structures insurance solutions, with end-to-end ownership and accountability for marketing, placing and the ongoing maintenance of insurance contracts as well as processing of claims.
