A bit about us
We’re Hyve - organiser of the world’s fastest-growing and most forward-thinking B2B events. As the chosen event partner to many of the world’s leading companies, our platforms play a critical role in their strategies - helping them enter new markets, accelerate growth and connect with the people who matter most.
Our portfolio features some of the world’s leading events in sectors like ecommerce, healthcare, edtech, and fintech. We’re growing fast with an entrepreneurial culture that empowers big ideas and quick action, plus an ambitious acquisition strategy bringing exciting new events into our mix.
Alongside our market-leading events, we’re building tech and data-driven products that supercharge connections – from one-to-one meeting programs and curated table talks to year-round engagement platforms.
Whatever your role, you’ll join a global team redefining how industries connect, collaborate, and grow – working with some of the most talented people in the business.
Think that sounds good? Wait until our talent acquisition team tells you about the culture.
 A bit about you
First things first: whatever your background, beliefs or ambitions, there’s a culture of belonging at Hyve — and everyone is welcome. The question isn’t where you’ve come from, but where you want to go.
You’ll thrive here if you’re curious, collaborative and not afraid to challenge convention. We look for people who take pride in what they do, who are excited by change and always moving forward. The kind of people who stay open, keep learning, and look for better ways to make an impact.
Our shared behaviours guide how we work: we dare to do things differently, own our work, embrace collaboration, stay true to ourselves and others, and remember that optimism wins.
If that sounds like you, you’ll fit right in.
A bit about the role
Shoptalk is the retail industry’s premier B2B event series and we’re looking for a dynamic sales leader to immerse themselves in our retailer and brand ecosystem and grow what is already retail’s largest community of changemakers — as we triple in size by 2030.
As Audience Development Lead, you’ll build, nurture and ultimately secure the delegate network of senior retailer and brand attendees for Shoptalk Events. As an individual contributor on the buyer acquisition team, you’ll expand existing accounts in your assigned verticals and win new delegations against target account lists at both the individual and organizational level[KM1]  — including hitting targets for the highly qualified Hosted Buyer Program and paid Retailer and Brand ticket sales. You may also support the rollout of new Shoptalk and Groceryshop products.
You’ll carry a monthly and show target and work across a suite of conferences at once, so agility is essential. And you’ll use every channel available — phone, video, email, social and in person — to reach the right attendees and partners.
As part of your job, you’ll:
  • Hit weekly and monthly attendee acquisition and revenue targets, tracking registrations and building contingency plans to protect individual and overall KPIs
  • Identify and acquire qualified senior executives for our Hosted Buyer Programs, upholding the highest standards to maintain integrity of the program
  • Grow key accounts — deepen existing relationships and open new ones across retail and consumer brands
  • Comfortable cold prospecting, communicating and presenting by phone, email, virtually and in-person to secure registrations from top retailers and consumer brands for the Hosted Buyer Program, plus paid delegate tickets
  • Engage senior and C-suite executives — understand their priorities and challenges, and show how Shoptalk’s portfolio connects them to the entire retail ecosystem
  • Design and launch new engagement methods
  • Find Shoptalk advocates and empower them to engage our community — and be one yourself, building a social presence on brand, joining community conversations and starting your own
  • Stay ahead of retail, e-commerce and consumer goods trends, feeding them into the community roadmap
  • Partner with content, marketing, events and sales to leverage our community against team and org-wide goals
  • Attend industry trade shows and conferences, demonstrating ROI
  • Own the full sales cycle, from first contact to post-show feedback
  • Keep the CRM current daily with new leads and opportunities
  • Set the standard for customer service and community building
  • Build email campaigns that drive awareness and conversion across key accounts and relevant job functions with original, highly personalized copy

Here’s what we’re looking for from you:
  • 5+ years in a quota-carrying sales, business development or account executive role — high-growth, high-volume account management or new business sales within events, retail or SaaS
  • A track record of beating targets across multiple products, confident at every stage of the sales cycle (prospecting > value led campaigning > conversion) and in consultative, enterprise-level selling
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, and a confident presenter — by phone, video and in person — comfortable engaging the C-suite
  • Self-motivated and inquisitive, and able to prioritize tasks and manage your own time
  • At home in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment
  • Passionate about building an admired product and cultivating community across retail and adjacent industries
  • Plugged into retail, retail technology and CPG news — funding rounds, acquisitions, company results
  • Fluent in CRM and sales intelligence platforms: HubSpot, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Meet Alfred
  • Strong analytical skills, able to organize and interpret large data sets accurately including proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, pivot tables, VLOOKUP and basic formulas, and use of AI tools
