Build and support broking screens, financial data pipelines, microservices, and reusable pricing libraries across multiple asset classes. Responsibilities include resolving production issues, improving development and deployment workflows, documenting pricing logic, enhancing search and data retrieval, and delivering projects independently. This is an engineering role rather than pure quantitative research or modeling, with opportunities to learn financial markets and apply AI-enabled development tools.

Group Overview

The TP ICAP Group is a world leading provider of market infrastructure.

Our purpose is to provide clients with access to global financial and commodities markets, improving price discovery, liquidity, and distribution of data, through responsible and innovative solutions. Through our people and technology, we connect clients to superior liquidity and data solutions.

The Group is home to a stable of premium brands. Collectively, TP ICAP is the largest interdealer broker in the world by revenue, the number one Energy & Commodities broker in the world, the world’s leading provider of OTC data, and an award winning all-to-all trading platform.

The Group operates from more than 60 offices in 27 countries.  We are 5,300 people strong.  We work as one to achieve our vision of being the world’s most trusted, innovative, liquidity and data solutions specialist.

Role Overview

The Global Analytics team builds and maintains the Price Discovery platform used by the broking desks globally to generate, calculate, and distribute market data to clients. Our work spans Fixed Income, Interest Rate Derivatives, FX Derivatives, Energy, and Commodities.

Much of the day-to-day centres on an in-house Excel-like application, backed by C++ and C# libraries, where broking screens are developed and maintained. As a junior member of the team, you will have experienced colleagues around you to guide you through the financial domain and the platform.

Role Responsibilities

  • Create, enhance, and support broking screens across multiple asset classes
  • Support existing systems and data pipelines, fix production issues, and identify where things can be improved
  • Learn how financial markets operate from the screens, the broking desks, and colleagues
  • Own and drive projects to completion, delivering high-quality results
  • Contribute to moving analytics out of screen cells into reusable library functions and documenting pricing logic
  • Contribute to building micro-services that translate business requirements into deployable components
  • Contribute to optimising and streamlining how screens are developed and deployed
  • Contribute to improving search and data retrieval capabilities to support data sales requirements
  • Leverage AI tools and modern development workflows to accelerate your own work and the team's output
  • A pure research or quant modelling position. You will learn financial concepts, but the day-to-day is engineering
  • A role where every task comes with a detailed specification. You will often need to figure out the "how" yourself
  • A passive role, as we need someone who looks for problems to solve, not someone who waits to be told what to do

Experience / Competences

Essential

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics
  • Demonstrable programming ability in at least one of C++, C#, or Python
  • A builder mindset: you would rather deliver something and iterate than wait for a perfect specification
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and with asking questions to move things forward
  • A self-starter who engages with tasks of all sizes, from quick fixes to larger project work
  • Genuine curiosity about how things work, in the financial markets and in the codebase
  • Clear, direct communication

Desired

  • Prior exposure to financial markets is a plus but not a requirement
  • Eagerness to adopt new technologies, including AI-powered tooling
