Job Description Summary
We are seeking an analytically minded and investment-focused Associate Portfolio Specialist to support our consulting and white-labelled client offering. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about investments and markets, enjoys both technical analysis and investment storytelling, and is looking to build broader client-facing experience over time.
The role sits at the intersection of the Investment and Client teams, supporting Portfolio Specialists with investment research, portfolio analysis, market commentary, investment committee materials, and client deliverables. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality investment communication and portfolio support across our consulting client base, while gradually developing exposure to adviser relationships and client engagement.
The Role
The Associate Portfolio Specialist will work closely with Portfolio Specialists, Investment Analysts, and the broader Investment team to support the delivery of consulting and white-labelled investment solutions. The role requires a strong technical investment foundation, attention to detail, curiosity around markets, and the ability to translate investment insights into clear and practical client communication.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to deepen their investment expertise while developing the commercial and relationship management skills required to become a broader client-facing investment professional over time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support Portfolio Specialists with the preparation of quarterly commentary, monthly market updates, investment committee packs, presentations, and other client-facing materials.
  • Assist with portfolio analysis, asset allocation reviews, portfolio construction support, and manager research for consulting and white-labelled clients.
  • Work closely with the Investment team to understand portfolio positioning, market views, investment decisions, and manager selection outcomes, helping to translate these into clear client communication.
  • Contribute to investment reporting, portfolio monitoring, and the ongoing refinement of client deliverables and investment content.
  • Support Portfolio Specialists in preparing for client meetings, investment committee discussions, webinars, and conferences.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the firm's investment philosophy, process, and portfolio construction framework, while gradually building exposure to client interaction and relationship management responsibilities over time.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Investments, or a related field.
  • Progress toward or interest in completing CFA, CAIA, or similar professional qualifications is advantageous.
  • 2-5 years' experience in investments, asset management, wealth management, or investment consulting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of investments, markets, asset allocation, and portfolio construction principles.

Base Salary Compensation Range
ZAR 807,000.00-1,131,000.00
Bonus Target:
10% Annual
We expect the compensation and target bonus for this role to fall within the stated range. The specific compensation offered will depend on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
