The Role:

Legend is looking for a commercially minded Associate Legal Counsel to join our Legal team in London.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, fast-paced legal team that partners closely with stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Commercial and Strategy. You'll support the business across a broad range of commercial legal matters, with a particular focus on customer and supplier contracts and gaming regulation, while gaining exposure to intellectual property and wider legal projects.

Whether you're making your first move in-house or already building your commercial legal career, you'll have genuine ownership from day one while being supported by experienced senior lawyers who are invested in your development. You'll work across multiple international markets, providing practical legal advice that helps the business move quickly while managing legal and regulatory risk responsibly.

If you're looking for a role where no two days are the same, your work has visible impact, and you'll continue to grow as a commercial lawyer, we'd love to hear from you.

Your Impact:

    Commercial Contracting
  • Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of customer and supplier commercial agreements, utilizing the support of contract playbooks and templates where applicable.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice throughout the contracting process.
  • Business Partnering
  • Build trusted relationships with teams across Commercial, Product and Marketing, helping them navigate legal risk while achieving business objectives.
  • Communicate legal advice clearly and pragmatically, balancing commercial opportunities with appropriate risk management on legal projects and programmes.
  • Gaming Regulation & Compliance
  • Support legal research, licensing and gaming regulatory initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assist the business in understanding and applying relevant gaming and advertising regulations.
  • Intellectual Property
  • Support intellectual property matters, including ownership, licensing and protection of company IP assets and content.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and maintain legal templates, playbooks and self-service guidance that improve efficiency and enable teams to work more effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify legal processes and reduce turnaround times.

Why You'll Love This Role:

  • Work alongside experienced commercial lawyers who will support your development.
  • Gain exposure to commercial contracts, gaming regulation, intellectual property and wider legal projects, rather than specialising too early.
  • Partner directly with senior stakeholders and see your advice influence commercial decisions.
  • Own meaningful workstreams from an early stage while continuing to develop your in-house legal career.
  • Join a collaborative, international business where Legal is a trusted commercial partner.

What You'll Bring:

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with approximately 1-3 years PQE, gained within a commercial, corporate, technology or in-house legal environment.
  • A strong grounding in commercial law and experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and practical way.
  • A commercial mindset, balancing legal risk with pragmatic business solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with experience partnering across different business functions.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of your work while knowing when to seek guidance.
  • Exposure to gaming regulation would be advantageous but isn't essential.

Interview Process:

  • 1st Stage: Introductory conversation with our Talent Partner (30 minutes via Teams).
  • 2nd Stage: Interview with the General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel, focusing on your commercial legal experience, contract negotiation and approach to stakeholder partnering (60 minutes via Teams).
  • 3rd Stage: Informal coffee chat with the General Counsel in London (30 minutes).
  • Final Stage: Values interview with our People Partner, exploring how you collaborate, learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment (60 minutes via Teams).

Legend is an Equal Opportunity Employer, but that’s just the start. We believe different perspectives help us grow and achieve more. That’s why we’re dedicated to hiring and developing the most talented and diverse team- which includes individuals with different backgrounds, abilities, identities and experiences. If you require any reasonable adjustments throughout your application process, please speak to your Talent Partner or contact the team on [email protected], and we'll do all we can to support you.
