Company Description

Fastmarkets is an industry-leading price-reporting agency (PRA) and information provider for global commodities, providing price data, news, analytics and events for the agriculture, forest products, metals and mining and new-generation energy markets.

Fastmarkets' data is critical for customers seeking to understand and predict dynamic, sometimes opaque markets, enabling trading and risk management. Fastmarkets is a global business with a history dating back to 1865 and is built on trust and deep market knowledge. It has more than 700 employees spread across global locations in the UK, US, China, India, Singapore, Brazil, Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland and beyond.

Job Description

We move fast. We operate across multiple geographies, we’re scaling quickly, and our people are what make the difference.

This is an Associate HRBP role with real scope. You’ll be partnering with managers across the business on everything from organisational design and workforce planning to performance, employee relations, and talent development. No two weeks look the same, and your work will have a tangible impact on how people experience working here.

You’ll sit within a collaborative People team and work closely with the HR leads, giving you excellent exposure and lots of room to develop.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Acting as a trusted first point of contact for managers on a wide range of people queries, providing timely, practical, and commercially minded guidance
  • Supporting and leading employee relations cases, from performance management and disciplinaries through to complex situations requiring careful judgment
  • Partnering with managers on organisational changes and role design as the business evolves
  • Contributing to global people initiatives — think engagement, inclusion, talent reviews, and succession planning, and helping bring them to life
  • Using data and people metrics to identify trends, surface insights, and help the business make better decisions
  • Supporting the full employee lifecycle, working closely with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and L&D colleagues
  • Building genuine relationships with stakeholders, becoming a credible partner rather than just a process manager.

What you’ll get

A role where your work is visible and valued. A company that genuinely invests in its people. Strong peers to learn from. And the kind of variety that keeps the job interesting every single day!

Qualifications

We recruit talented, dynamic people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, all united by a belief in our mission to provide the world’s leading and most trusted price reporting, events, and intelligence service for the markets we serve. We’re proud to be an equal opportunities employer and are committed to creating a fully inclusive workplace, where everyone feels able to participate and contribute meaningfully.

If you are open-minded, curious, resilient, solutions-oriented and committed to promoting equality, then read on.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.

  • Solid generalist HR experience, ideally within a fast-paced, international environment
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and the confidence to apply it in real situations
  • A naturally curious, commercially aware mindset; you consider the business context behind every people decision
  • Strong interpersonal skills; you build trust quickly and can navigate difficult conversations with care and confidence
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change — this is not a role for those who need a rigid playbook
  • Confidence working with people data and reporting to identify trends and support decision-making
  • Experience working across multiple countries is a bonus, though not essential
  • CIPD qualified (or working towards it) preferred.

If you're excited about the role but your experience, skills or qualifications don't perfectly align, we encourage you to apply anyway.
