OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION

Global Corporate & Investment Banking ("GCIB") is the division responsible for managing the Bank's key international client relationships and main financing products (Syndication, Structured & Project Finance, Securitisation, Working Capital Solutions, ECA financing, etc.).

The GCIB Business Management function is responsible for supporting the management and business units within GCIB from, inter alia, a strategic, operational and governance perspective ensuring the business maintains its ‘license to operate’.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

Leadership & Strategic Development

  • As a member of the GCIB Business Management function, provide specific support to the Head of Securitised Products and Supply Chain Finance (SP&SCF) by taking responsibility for the preparation of materials and other documents required to support the strategic direction and objectives of the business. Offer solutions and direction and then demonstrate ownership when implementing changes
  • Support the Head/ Deputy Head of GCIB Business Management and the Head of SP&SCF in dealing with key strategic and operating issues
  • Represent GCIB and/or specific departments on various working groups as required.

Financial

  • Play a role in the management of the financial & strategic annual/MTBP planning exercise across the department
  • Provide appropriate support to enable the front offices in their delivery of the financial targets set for EMEA GCIB
  • Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial forecasts of the SP&SCF department

Operational Management

  • Drive the development of new processes and procedures to deliver improvements and innovations across the business. Support the implementation of any process or procedural changes, both within SP&SCF and  any relevant business areas
  • Liaise with EPD in respect to business practices, policies and guidelines, look to implement and inform relevant GCIB businesses

Global Collaboration

  • Maintain and enhance good working relationships with stakeholders, across the region and globally to share best practices, provide support and develop effective local policies and procedures appropriate to the Company, and working in support of the One MUFG and overall Group strategy
  • Act as a central contact point and liaise directly with Legal, HR, Risk, Compliance, Internal & External Audit, Finance and other support functions in a wider GCIB role and/or for specific business lines

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Actively work with GCIB teams and internal risk management departments to strengthen the identification and management of operational and compliance related risks impacting GCIB
  • Deputise for Line Manager and / or relevant SP&SCF personnel in relevant meetings/committees/ conferences to facilitate policy development and contribute to business performance
  • Assist in the preparation of internal/ external audits

WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Moderate knowledge of the Securitised Products and Supply Chain Finance product suite
  • Experience of the overall financial management and control of a front office business function, ensuring compliance with corporate governance, legal and regulatory requirements

  • Good financial and business planning capability, including strong inter-divisional negotiation/coordination skill that can be deployed both within EMEA and with Tokyo Head Office.
  • An appetite for information and an ability to prioritise and present valuable conclusions and summaries

Education / Qualifications:

  • Degree Level/or Business Management expertise
