Department Description
The EPC team is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and monitoring investment opportunities in Europe for the private credit strategies available at HPS from direct lending / unitranche deals through to subordinated debt transactions. The EPC team works closely together with the global investment teams including the direct lending and strategic investment teams in the US.
Position Description
HPS is recruiting an Associate to join the European Private Credit Team in London. The ideal candidate will have prior experience at a private credit platform or from leveraged finance / M&A / direct investments at a top tier investment bank, demonstrate excellent quantitative ability and modelling skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic who is a proactive and analytical thinker.

Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Developing financial models
- Conducting detailed business due diligence and evaluating deal opportunities to provide a recommendation to senior members of the team
- Preparing and presenting materials for discussion with the investment committee
- Interacting with management teams and key stakeholders
- Conducting detailed valuation analysis
- Monitoring investments and sector trends
Candidate Profile
- At least two years of experience in top tier investment banking, consulting and/or investment background
- Passionate about investing and eager to learn
- Excellent modeling and spreadsheet skills, as well as quantitative ability
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Team player
- Strong work ethic, proactive and self-motivated
