What you will do

As the Associate Director of Product Management for Johnson Controls OpenBlue Workplace Experience, you will lead the strategy, growth, and execution of a portfolio that is redefining how people interact with the workplace. Working across product management, engineering, UX, data analytics, customer success, and commercial teams, you will shape the evolution of our solutions into an AI-native platform that delivers seamless, intelligent, and data-driven workplace experiences.


You will drive product vision, portfolio performance, and commercialization strategies while ensuring every investment is grounded in customer needs, market opportunities, and measurable business outcomes. Just as importantly, you will develop and inspire a high-performing product team, creating a culture of innovation, accountability, and customer obsession.


How you will do it

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and own the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for the OpenBlue Workplace Experience portfolio, including associated hardware solutions.
  • Lead the transformation into an AI-native platform, leveraging agentic AI to create more intelligent, proactive, and seamless workplace experiences for customers.
  • Provide strategic oversight of product prioritization, backlog management, and roadmap execution, ensuring alignment across Product Management and Engineering teams.
  • Lead the Workplace Experience Customer Advisory Board, using customer insights and market feedback to shape product strategy, validate new opportunities, and strengthen customer partnerships.

Product Delivery

  • Partner with Engineering, UX, AI and Quality teams to deliver high-impact product enhancements and new capabilities that create measurable customer and business value.
  • Drive effective cross-functional collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring successful planning, execution, and release of product initiatives.

Customer & Market Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and commercial teams to understand market trends, customer challenges, and emerging opportunities.
  • Champion a customer-centric culture by ensuring customer insights and feedback directly influence product strategy and roadmap decisions.

Go-to-Market

  • Partner with Product Managers and Commercial teams to successfully launch and scale new solutions, including enablement, marketing, customer success, portfolio positioning and delivery strategies.
  • Own portfolio performance, driving growth in recurring revenue, customer adoption, retention, and competitive differentiation.
  • Develop and evolve pricing, packaging, and commercialization strategies that maximize customer value and business impact.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Establish best-in-class product management practices, documentation standards, and product discovery processes that support scalable growth.
  • Mentor and develop Product Managers while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and customer obsession.

What we look for

Required

  • Significant product management experience, including leadership of product teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience managing complex enterprise software portfolios, including solutions that integrate hardware and digital technologies.
  • Strong understanding of agile product development principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and hands-on with engineering and technical teams to bring products to market.
  • Understanding of corporate real estate, workplace management, and the role of workplace technology in enhancing occupant experiences and business outcomes.Proven experience building native mobile apps and best in class digital experiences
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong collaboration, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to identify market opportunities, understand customer challenges, and build compelling product strategies.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as business needs require

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience leading workplace technology, workplace experience, or smart workplace software portfolios.
  • Experience in healthcare, regulated industries, mission-critical environments, compliance systems, or related sectors.
  • Familiarity with smart buildings, IoT, sustainability, energy management, and enterprise SaaS solutions.
  • Experience using data, KPIs, and business metrics to drive product decisions and portfolio performance.
