Why Euromonitor Custom Research

We answer the commercial questions that the world's leading companies cannot resolve from published data alone. Euromonitor Custom Research has delivered more than 10,000 projects, drawing on over 50 years of global data, industry specialist teams and analysts on the ground in 100 countries. Few consultancies can match that depth of local insight.

The questions we answer are as varied as our clients. A brand might want to know where its next phase of growth will come from, a retailer how its shoppers are shifting to online channels, or an exporter which markets to target first. Others need robust evidence to substantiate a "No.1" claim. More than 5,700 organisations trust Euromonitor.

This is what sets the role apart: it combines the problem-solving and client skills of a strategy consultant with the analytical depth of a research organisation.

About The Role

You'll work on strategic questions for some of the world's best-known companies, mostly across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. The work is varied: one month you might be sizing an emerging category for a global food business, the next helping a beauty brand shape its consumer strategy for a new market. In each case, you will be involved from kick-off to the final recommendation, typically working on several projects in parallel and often to tight client deadlines.

What you'll do

You'll own the work end to end, from building the evidence to advising on what it means. You'll draw on our research network, data teams and tools along the way, but the quality and accuracy of the final answer are yours.

  • Define the problem. Translate each brief into key questions, hypotheses and a clear workplan, then make sound research decisions as the evidence develops, flagging early when findings point to further questions the client should consider.
  • Build evidence beyond what is publicly available. Lead conversations with senior industry figures to uncover insights that desk research cannot, and build robust market sizes, forecasts and scenarios by triangulating Passport data, primary research and other sources.
  • Turn evidence into advice. Synthesise complex, imperfect findings into a rigorously tested point of view, going beyond the "what" to the "so what" and "now what", in reports and presentations that senior executives find clear, memorable and actionable.
  • Build trusted client relationships. Work closely with client teams, from insight managers to strategy directors, presenting findings and facilitating workshops with clarity and composure, and spotting further needs that could lead to follow-on work.
  • Collaborate across Euromonitor. Plan workstreams and guide the analysts on your projects to keep timelines and quality on track, collaborating with colleagues across offices, in-country researchers and Euromonitor's industry specialists.

Requirements

We care most about how you think, how you work with clients and how you turn evidence into recommendations. Sector knowledge and research techniques can be learned.

  • Analytical rigour. You break complex questions into their parts, form hypotheses and find creative routes to a robust answer when data is incomplete. You build and validate models in Excel and use AI tools with sound judgement about their outputs.
  • Influence and communication. You build credibility quickly with senior stakeholders and influence decisions without relying on authority. You write and present with a clear line of argument, have strong PowerPoint skills and stay composed under challenge.
  • Curiosity and ownership. You have a genuine interest in how markets, companies and consumers work. You take responsibility beyond your remit, move work forward in ambiguous situations and bring colleagues with you.
  • Experience and education. Around 2 to 4 years' experience for Associate Consultant or 5+ years for Consultant in consulting, market research or a related analytical or commercial role. You can point to analysis or recommendations that have shaped client decisions, and you have guided the work of analysts. A strong academic record, ideally in business, economics or a quantitative subject.

Desirable (not essential)

  • Knowledge of consumer goods, retail, B2B or trade sectors
  • Experience with survey design, web scraping, social listening, Power BI, Python or R.
  • A second language used across Europe, the Middle East or Africa.
