We’re reinventing payments.
In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK. Our payments infrastructure, purpose-built for in-person commerce, is game changing.

Now, over 150,000 customers across four countries choose to transact billions with us every year.
But we’re just getting started.

Our people are the driving force behind our success. They are our greatest investment and our ultimate competitive advantage. We hire exceptional people and give them the autonomy, trust, and ownership to thrive. The results take care of themselves.

The Role

Are you ready to join a dynamic team and help shape tax compliance for an industry-leading technology and payments business as it expands in Europe? We are seeking a curious and analytical Assistant Tax Manager to play a pivotal role in our finance team.

Reporting directly to our Head of Tax, you will support our corporation tax and VAT processes across the UK, Ireland, Spain, and Italy, partnering with various teams to anticipate tax impacts and build timely, scalable solutions for our growing business. This is an opportunity to develop expertise in tax governance, process improvement, and automation in a fast-paced environment where you can make a real impact.

What you will do…

● Own the data extraction and initial preparation of VAT returns across the UK and EU, ensuring accuracy at the source.

● Support the redesign of the VAT Return process to reflect our evolving business model, products, and compliance requirements.

● Act as the Tax Systems Champion, ensuring our ERP and integrated systems are configured correctly and publicising the tax calendar.

● Support the reconciliation of tax accounts and assist with monthly and annual reporting for external audits and Financial Statement preparation.

● Provide technical tax support to the group, build and maintain group tax policies, and share VAT knowledge across the business.

● Collaborate with the Finance, Data, and broader business teams to enhance the profile of tax and contribute to ad hoc projects.

What you will bring...

● Qualified accountant, tax qualified, or HMRC trained with several years of hands-on finance or tax experience.

● A solid understanding of indirect tax/VAT principles and a willingness to learn, including areas like Partial Exemption and Reverse Charge.

● Strong business partnering experience with excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex tax concepts simply.

● A data-driven mindset, comfort with ambiguity, and experience in improving processes in a fast-paced environment.

Dojo home and away

We believe our best work happens when we collaborate in-person. These “together days” foster communication, drive innovation and spark our brightest ideas.

That's why we have an office-first culture. This means working from the office 4+ days per week.

With offices across Europe, we know a thing or two about staying dynamic. Need deep focus? Head to a quiet zone. Big ideas? Collaboration spaces have you covered. Just here for a catch-up? Our social hubs make it easy. Do work that counts, in spaces made for you.

Question: what’s curious, relentless, and customer obsessed?

If you’re keen to know the answer, you’re a third of the way to meeting our Dojo values.

If the following speak to you, let’s talk:

  • You’re curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.
  • You’re relentless. You keep going even when it’s easier not to.
  • You’re customer-obsessed. You know how important customers are to what you do.
