About the Role

As Assistant Social Media Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management and optimisation of our organic social media channels. Working closely with the Social Media Manager and wider Marketing, Media, and Creative teams, you will help bring our social strategy to life through effective planning, content delivery, channel management, reporting, and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for a social media professional who is passionate about creating impactful content, driving engagement, and using performance insights to continually enhance results.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the delivery of the organic social media strategy, ensuring activity aligns with brand objectives and business goals.
  • Managing social media calendars and coordinating content planning, briefing, scheduling, publishing, and quality assurance across channels.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and creative teams to identify and develop engaging content opportunities.
  • Monitoring and analysing channel performance, contributing to reporting and using insights to drive optimisation and growth.
  • Supporting the operational management of social channels, including governance, account security, compliance, audits, and content delivery processes.

Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

Please see our Hybrid@Harrods policy on our Career Site for more information or speak to a member of our Talent Acquisition team if you have any questions regarding the requirements for this role.

About You

You will be a highly organised and proactive social media professional who enjoys balancing creativity with operational excellence. You will be confident managing multiple projects simultaneously, building strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring content is delivered to the highest standard. You'll have a data-driven mindset, using insights and performance metrics to inform decision-making and enhance channel effectiveness. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, embracing change and continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes, performance, and ways of working. You'll also be comfortable taking ownership, influencing others, and contributing to the success of a collaborative team.

You'll also have:

  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, channel best practices, and social analytics tools.
  • Previous experience in social content management within a brand, agency, retail, or consumer-focused environment.
  • Experience supporting, coordinating, or mentoring team members while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
